Not since Neville Chamberlain has the world seen as wreckless an appeaser as Jimmy Carter.
During the Jimmy Carter nightmare in the 70's, Iran took 52 American's hostage for 444 days and had the most powerful nation on Earth on its knees. Not until a real President, Ronald Reagan, came to office did Iran take the US serious enough to release all American Hostages. Since then we have had to live with Iran as a rogue Islamic state thanks to the peanut farmer, turn politician, turn terrorism appeaser. Since Jimmy Carter left office he has shaken hands with every tin horn dictator imaginable.Recently Carter met with the terrorist group Hamas, and while in the Middle East he paid his respects and laid a wreath at the toomb of the terrorist Yasser Arafat. Israel condemned the move and refused to provide Carter with a security detail. No need for security when Carter was among his best friends. Carter now has offered to be the mouth peace for Hamas to the United States and Israel.
Both the US and Israel rightfully declined, reminding him we do not deal with terrorists.At best Carter is naive allowing himself to used by terrorists for propaganda purposes, at worst he is just another leftist politician that sympathizes with the Palestinians at the expense of Israel.Whatever his motivation he has become wreckless and dangerous. It seems not much has changed in 30 years.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Former President Carter angered Israel's government Tuesday by embracing a Hamas politician during a visit to the West Bank, ignoring Israeli and U.S. designation of the Islamic militants as a terror group. Israel accused Carter, the broker of the first Arab-Israeli peace accord, of "dignifying" extremists. But Carter vowed to meet Hamas' supreme leader this week in Syria.
Carter, a Nobel Peace laureate, also laid a wreath at Yasser Arafat's grave, another break with U.S. policy during a private peace mission to the Middle East that includes stops in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Syria — where the virulently anti-Israel Hamas movement has its headquarters. Carter returns to Israel on Monday.
Carter has been shunned by Israel this week, and the White House has criticized him for his willingness to meet with Hamas leaders. Carter says the U.S. and Israel should stop isolating the group, whose control of the Gaza Strip threatens to undermine Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts.

Students told Carter the line suggests suicide bombings are tactic used in war and should only be stopped when peace comes. Carter did bend there. And for the first time since the controversy began, apologized.
CARTER: That sentence was worded in a completely improper and stupid way, for which I have apologized to many audiences.
COSTELLO: As for whether Carter brokered another peace accord with that mea culpa, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz, who rebutted Carter's remarks, says no.

Dear Governor Dean:
We are writing to share our deep concern about the decision of your party to have former President Jimmy Carter continue to serve as Honorary Chairman of Democrats Abroad, the official Democratic Party organization for Americans living outside the United States. We urge you to reassess his suitability for that honored status in light of his recent outrageous remarks regarding Hamas.
As you probably know, in public comments made on June 21 after receiving a donation for his foundation from a group in Dublin, Ireland, the former President castigated our government and the governments of Israel and the European Union for withholding direct aid to Hamas leaders in the Palestinian Authority. Carter described this policy as “criminal.”
It has been nearly a decade since the State Department under President Clinton designated Hamas as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. As you know, it is illegal for individuals in our country—much less the federal government itself—to knowingly provide material support or resources to an organization that has been so designated.
In light of these considerations, it is the course of action Carter is advocating—provision of direct aid to Hamas by the U.S. government—that would be “criminal.” In light of Hamas’ long record of murderous attacks on civilians in Israel and within the Palestinian territories, it would also be grossly immoral.
As former ambassadors, we have learned—sometimes through difficult experience—that the words used by prominent Americans while overseas can resonate more loudly than remarks uttered at home for domestic consumption.
That seems especially true in this instance. You may recall that last November, a Hamas subsidiary issued a communiqué calling on sympathizers to attack American targets “all over the globe.” It is difficult for us to understand how Carter can be deemed fit to serve as Honorary Chairman of Democrats Abroad after having urged support for Hamas.
Mr. Chairman: You have credited Jimmy Carter with spurring your entry into public service. While campaigning for the office of President of the United States, you left Iowa just days before the all-important caucuses to visit Carter at his home, and in public remarks you made while standing beside him you said, “I think Jimmy Carter is a loved figure all over America for his moral standing and the way he has conducted himself in helping others since he's left the presidency.” And you said that if elected, you would seek to “follow the example of Jimmy Carter.”
But when Carter published a book smearing Israel as an “apartheid” state, your committee issued a statement asserting that “on this issue President Carter speaks for himself, the opinions in his book are his own, they are not the views or position of the Democratic Party.”
In view of Carter’s most recent remarks, however, we urge you to go further and take prompt action to ensure that Carter is stripped of the formal role your party has bestowed upon him by removing him as Honorary Chairman of Democrats Abroad. As Republicans, we know that we will agree to disagree with Democrats like you about many things, but we are hopeful that on this matter, we can find common ground.

The very APARTHEID bastion of the world, otherwise known as the ‘Islamic world’, or the totalitarian dictatorships inc. where no one is ever equal there, not women, not one class to the other, not one minority has any decent rights, but persecuted in the regular Arab racism’s supremacy & Islamic apartheid, or Islamo fascism.
In order to divert attention from the real criminals of apartheid in this world [or to disperse their populations' resentment of the oppressive regimes, after all, what else can can so 'unify' that intolerant culture than common hatred?], and much much worse then that [to say the least], they, in their collective hatred & Apartheid motivation against the ‘non Arab’ the ‘non Muslim’ entity AKA Israel, to deny it’s right to exist, have come up with a myth about “apartheid in Israel”, what it actually means is that if democratic & free Israel dares to defend it’s self from a Racist Arab terrorist it is doomed to be branded as an “apartheid” system.
The sad part is of course that some have been bought by Arab oil money like Jimmy Carter, but the world should not let the magic sand cover the Arabian monsters including those “freedom fighters” fascists in Gaza that oppress Christians or those “moderate” ‘Palestinians’ that try to ethnic cleanse all Jews from the land, and so far there’s not one Jewish family under “moderate” fascist ‘palestine’.

One must wonder how Musa sees the world. A black Muslim refugee from the Sudan, Musa's refusal to be drafted into the Sudanese army to fight the Arab janjaweed militiamen led to the burning of his village and the murder or disappearance of his 16-member family.

In response to William Keil (letter, Jan. 14):
My issue with former President Carter's book was that incorrect facts are used in the book and the charge of racism made against Israel is wrong.
An employee of former President Carter quit his employ in protest against the factual errors in the book. Conclusions based on errors cannot be relied upon.
Consider the following facts and decide who is practicing racism:
- Israel has approximately one million Arab citizens who enjoy full equality under the law. The legal code of the Palestinian Authority specifically prohibits sale of property to a Jew.

This is an insidious lie based on a false analogy. Apartheid was founded on spurious theories of racial hierarchy, the superiority of certain skin colours and physical features, and the separation of so-called races to avoid contamination. It’s an absurd doctrine, designed to justify prejudice, rationalise oppression and legalise economic exploitation.
It’s nothing new. Similar systems have existed throughout history. Untouchables in India; non-Moslems in Islam.
Israel’s policy towards the Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza is not Apartheid. Carter makes the analogy by taking an array of incidents and administrative measures, and forming them into an ideology. His reasoning is a sham: Israel has a strategy for security; it is not based on racist dogma. In fact Israel itself is a multiracial country and has consistently aimed to be a part of a peaceful, prosperous Middle East; it is the Arabs who have remained intransigent, persecuting and expelling Jews, rejecting the Jewish state based on their own bigoted intolerance.
Carter recoils from the security fence, citing examples of people who have been disadvantaged by its construction; he dismisses the function of the wall, its role in stifling the recent terrorist campaign, implying instead that its purpose is to establish Apartheid.
Carter is offended by the checkpoints and Israel’s policing methods, forgetting that they’re a response to waves of Moslem assassins sent into Israel to kill Jews, and that every time we relax our guard, new attacks follow; instead he sees Israel’s security clampdown as an attempt to impose Apartheid.
Carter may have plenty of Jewish friends, but in his dotage he’s developing the mindset of an anti-Semite: whatever a Jew does there must be some evil intention behind it; and whatever evil occurs, there must be a Jew behind it.

4) The PA official media & education = hate (crimes) campaign on "the joos", (not just on Israel...).
5) Exposing the constant intimdation on nations by the GOLIATH ARAB MUSLIM (oil) block, to tarnish innocent Israel in the UN.
