"Palestinian" Arabs first class inside Israel - PA Arab Squatters Remain on Jerusalem Property

"Palestinian" Arabs first class inside Israel - PA Arab Squatters Remain on Jerusalem Property

PA Arab Squatters Remain on Jerusalem Property
6 Kislev 5768, 16 November 07 11:38by Ezra HaLevi(IsraelNN.com) Yitzchak Herskovitz, in his eighties, continues to battle Arab squatters in the courts as yet another eviction was postponed Sunday.

Herskovitz has been in the courts for fifteen years against a clan of PA Arabs who are squatting on a property he owns just below the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Givat HaMatos, near Beit Tzefafa. Even after multiple rulings in his favor, the return of his property had been repeatedly delayed and called into question.

“The government and courts are responsible for protecting the property rights of their citizens, but they are not doing so.” Herskovitz told Arutz-7. “I do not believe a person can fathom the pain of what this trespassing does to me.”

Earlier this year, on July 2, Herskovitz was given a court order to evict the squatters. At first, the police demanded that he pay for a large number of officers to enforce the order in the face of expected violence. After he paid the sum and dozens of Jewish volunteers showed up to assist in reclaiming the property, police said an injunction had postponed the order due to a legal technicality the Arabs’ lawyer brought to court at the last moment.

Arutz-7’s coverage of the story led to the Knesset Law Committee’s adjustment of the law requiring private citizens to pay the police to enforce a court order, but the eviction has yet to take place.

A new date was eventually set, with Jerusalem District Court Judge Noam Solberg demanding that the Arabs’ lawyer, Mohammad Dahleh, sign an agreement that he would cease the use of delay tactics.

The date was then delayed once more due to a police policy not to carry out evictions during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The new eviction date was finally set for Sunday, November 11, but was again postponed at the last minute – due to yet another loophole found by Dahleh, who had refused to sign the agreement presented by the Judge.

“It was proven without a doubt, with a preponderance of evidence that the Salah clan invaded the Givat HaMatos and Beit Tzefafa area by way of Bethlehem,” Herskovitz says. “It is with a strong desire to seek a peaceful solution to this dilemma that I go to court. Others, I believe, would have taken the law in their own hands.”

Not Only in House Illegally, But Jerusalem Too
The Salah clan, which is squatting in the residence, is not only residing in Herskovitz’s property illegally, but in Jerusalem altogether in contravention of the law. The clan resided in the PA village of Tamra south of Jerusalem until they were forced to leave by the village elders due to criminal activity.

Herskovitz recently made several trips to the relevant Judea and Samaria police and Civil Administration authorities to ascertain whether they had the documents required to enter pre-1967 Israel from PA-controlled areas. He found out that they have no such permission and are in Jerusalem illegally.

Herskovitz alleges that the police know this and refuse to take action against the clan.

He is now demanding that the police file a criminal suit against the squatters. “Even when I win this current case, they will not be punished for their actions,” he says, “because it is a civil trespass suit, whereas their actions are criminal. Their actions are more than mere squatting or trespassing, but their presentation of false documents in court proves their intent is criminal. I believe the State of Israel should give them alternate housing – in jail – so that others will know that trespassers are indeed punished.”

Herskovitz says activists have the ability to influence the police to enforce the law, suggesting Minister of Public Security Avi Dichter be contacted...

Jew Fights for his home, invaded by Arab Squatters

Jew Fights for his home, invaded by Arab Squatters

http://esseragaroth.blogspot.com/2007/07/jew-fights-for-his-home.html

July 2007

Yitzhaq Hershkovitz is fighting to regain control of his house from Arab squatters in "East" Jerusalem.

The INN TV Report with Aharon Deutch can been viewed by clicking here http://www.israelnationalnews.com/TV/?act=one&id=1988

...After a 15-year fight, Mr. Hershkovitz finally obtained a court order to have the squatters removed. Yet, the police has not been helpful in enforcing the evacuation. One of the issues was that the Arabs were keeping their goats hidden inside the house, which apparently is against the zoning regulations. However, every time the police arrived to execute the order, or rather do a pre-execution investigation, the goats are taken outside through the back an and hidden somehow. There is now a stay on the eviction order.

Fortunately, he has been getting some support from friends, including the Defense-training and Torah-study, IBF Canine Unit, based in K'far Tapu'ah.

I'll try to find out more information about what can be done to assist and support him.

Again, and again, Israeli Arabs are often favored OVER Israeli Jews, Did somebody (in the Arabist camp) say "apartheid"?

Israeli Arabs are first class citizens over Israeli Jews!

Israel the Gem: Israel Defense Forces Pours Humanitarian Aid Into Gaza

Israel Defense Forces Pours Humanitarian Aid Into Gaza http://www.israelnewsagency.com/gazaidfisraelhumanitarianaidhamasterrorismun66070207.html

Israel Defense Forces Pours Humanitarian Aid Into Gaza

By Israel News Agency Staff

Jerusalem ----July 2....... Part of the following was communicated by the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Government Press Office to the Israel News Agency.

The IDF provided a summary of humanitarian activity and aid into the Gaza Strip which was coordinated by the Israel Defense Forces throughout the day.

"Despite the volatile security situation in the Gaza Strip, the IDF is continuing its efforts to provide a response to humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip," an IDF spokesperson told the INA. "Throughout the day the following humanitarian aid was transferred from Israel into Gaza through the Sufa, Kerem Shalom and Erez Crossings with the coordination of the Gaza District Coordination and Liaison Office: 676 tons of sugar, 637 tons of straw, 375 tons of animal feed, 191 tons of fruits, 159 tons of salt, 116,000 liters of cooking oil, 79 tons of bananas, 71,000 liters of milk, 36 tons of rice, 36 tons of tea, 33 tons of meat, 21,000 liters of hypochlorite (a water purifier), 20 tons of coffee, 20 tons of cocoa, 14 tons of milk powder, 5 tons of medical equipment for babies and 10 tons of diapers, 4 tons of reproductive eggs and 5kg of medical equipment and 8433 vaccines.

The terror group Hamas is attempting to restore law and order, collecting weapons, directing traffic and enforcing municipal codes at vegetable stands. But with Israel in control of its borders, coastline and airspace and with Fatah ignoring its pleas for a return to negotiations even Hamas acknowledges it won't be able to go it alone in Gaza.

The green Hamas flag flies over security buildings once used by Fatah. Gaza's only remaining radio station the Hamas-controlled Al Aqsa Radio blares militant slogans. Secular men, in fear for their lives, are growing beards in line with Islamic tradition.

Hundreds of tons of humanitarian aid have arrived in Gaza in the days since Hamas's violent takeover. But the territory's borders are closed for commercial trade indefinitely, all but destroying any prospect of development for Gaza's 1.4 million people.

In their violent seizure of Gaza, the Islamic terrorists of Hamas clearly had no plan for the day after.

Senior Abbas aide Saeb Erekat of Fatah has the crucial task of coordinating with Israel the entrance of humanitarian aid into Gaza. But Fatah's assistance only covers basic needs, and Gaza's exports are strangled.

John Ging, the head of UN aid operations in Gaza, said the world must find a way to keep Gaza's borders open for trade.

"Already we are feeding 1.1 million out of Gaza's 1.4 million people," he said. "But we'll be feeding the rest of them if the economy is killed." Recently, Palestinian terror mortar fire on a border crossing between Israel and Gaza forced a halt to crucial humanitarian aid entering the coastal territory, U.N. and Israeli military officials said.

The U.N. condemned the attack on the Kerem Shalom crossing, saying the attack served to "endanger the provision of vital humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of Gaza."

The IDF said the mortar fire was accompanied by another explosion nearby, apparently a roadside bomb, forcing the closure for security reasons.

The terror group Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the shooting in an announcement on its Web site.

Since the larger Islamic group Hamas seized control of Gaza, IDF and U.N. aid organizations have been sending truckloads of food and medicine through crossings from Israel to avert shortages in the poverty-stricken territory.

Shlomo Dror, an Israel military spokesman, said an average of 80 truckloads of humanitarian aid were entering Gaza daily. Dr. Saeb Erekat, the chief negotiator for the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, stated in a press conference in Ramallah that the launching of missiles at the crossings that are used to transport aid into the Gaza Strip, benefit no one.

"Some 150-200 Palestinians remained at the Erez crossing, but there is currently no intention of allowing their transfer to the West Bank via Israel for fear that some of them may be terrorists," said Tuesday the head of the of the Gaza District Coordination Office (DCO) with the Palestinians, Colonel Nir Peres.

“With each passing day the situation in the Strip will continue to deteriorate,” he said. “We are trying to provide as much assistance as possible, but eventually Hamas’ violent regime will only hurt the citizens more,” he said.

Israeli professor murdered as he saved students at Vriginia Tech shootings Source: Jerusalem Post
http://www.judeoscope.ca/breve.php3?id_breve=3495
As Jews worldwide honored on Monday the memory of those who were murdered in the Holocaust, a 75-year-old survivor sacrificed his life to save his students in Monday’s shooting at Virginia Tech college that left 32 dead and over two dozen wounded.
Professor Liviu Librescu, 76, threw himself in front of the shooter, who had attempted to enter his classroom. The Israeli mechanics and engineering lecturer was shot to death, "but all the students lived - because of him," Virginia Tech student Asael Arad - also an Israeli - told Army Radio.
Several of Librescu’s other students sent e-mails to his wife, Marlena, telling of how he blocked the gunman’s way and saved their lives, said the son, Joe.
"My father blocked the doorway with his body and asked the students to flee," Joe Librescu said in a telephone interview from his home outside of Tel Aviv. "Students started opening windows and jumping out."
Liviu Librescu, was respected in his field, his son said.
"His work was his life in a sense," said Joe. "That was a good place for him to practice his research."
The couple immigrated to Israel from Romania in 1978 and then moved to Virginia in 1986 for his sabbatical, but had stayed since then, Joe told Army Radio.

A "Poll" with everything in it: Arab racism, Islamofascism, Biased (Arabist-BBC) media

A "Poll" with everything in it:

  • Arab racism
  • Islamofascism
  • Biased (Arabist-BBC) media

The Effect of Arab Muslim Hezbullah Islamo-fascists in using kids as shields, demonizing Israel

Just a bit after (the June/2006 Hezbullah-Israel war) that bloodthirsty Islamic-Huzbullah Human shields trick in Lebanon to cause Arab Kids' deaths so to pin it on the Zionists, the biased BBC rushed to conduct a 'polI' who is looked upon negatively.
Israel, Iran & US came out on top.

    Islamofascism, Muslim countries, bah!

Israel, of course, has long provoked sharp international reactions, and last year was involved in a controversial war in Lebanon. … Israel is viewed most negatively in the Muslim countries of the Middle East, although also in Europe.
    http://www.worldpress.org/Americas/2706.cfm#down

    Timing & the BBC

Israel is viewed quite negatively in the world, possibly because the poll was conducted less than six months following the Israel/Hezbollah war in Lebanon. On average, 56 percent have a mainly negative view of the country,

As global Arab racism is a hard fact:
Then you have the Arabs (Syrian & Lebanese) in Brazil, their overwhelming power...

In Latin American and Asia, Brazil (72 percent) and MUSLIM Indonesia (71 percent) were the most negative, respectively. Nations that were most positive about Israel were Nigeria (45 percent positive), the US (41 percent), and Kenya (38 percent)...

More Palestinians entering (HUMANE/HUMANITARIAN) Israel on health grounds

    http://www.imra.org.il/story.php3?id=33112

ISRAEL-OPT: More Palestinians entering Israel on health grounds 90% of applicants granted permits when reason is medical

ISRAEL-OPT: More Palestinians entering Israel on health grounds www.irinnews.org/Report.aspx?ReportId=70200 BEIT EL/TEL AVIV, 15 February 2007 (IRIN - UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs ) - More and more Palestinians are gaining permission to enter Israel and East Jerusalem for medical reasons - one of the few ways they can still obtain a permit.

Behind an oversized desk, Dalia Bessa, the Health Coordinator for the Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank, answers her numerous phones in Hebrew, English and Arabic. One woman needs a permit to go to Jerusalem for cancer treatment; on another line, a report comes in about a car accident near Nablus. A moment later a Palestinian director of an East Jerusalem hospital files his request.

"We got 81,000 Palestinians permits to enter Israel for health reasons in 2006, a rise of 61 percent from 2005," Bessa says from her office in Beit El, near Ramallah. Without those permits, no hospital will grant entry to a Palestinian patient.

She believes the increase is due to the Israeli security barrier, which limits Palestinians' movements, and a strike in the medical sector. She expects even more Palestinians to require permits in 2007.

While fewer and fewer Palestinians from the West Bank, and none from Gaza, are able to enter Israel to work - a situation unlikely to change - Bessa says 90 percent of applicants are granted permits when the reason is medical.

    Aid blocked

Karni Crossing, the main commercial crossing into the Gaza Strip, is frequently closed by Israel due to intelligence alleging imminent attacks.

The Israeli human rights organisation Gisha has filed a High Court petition demanding that Karni be open longer so that aid can get through to Gaza. A hearing is set for the end of February.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) owes more than US$1 million in penalty fees to storage companies at the Ashdod Port in southern Israel, since it is unable to transfer containers in and out of the Gaza Strip quickly enough. This is wasted aid money, UNRWA officials say.

Shlomo Dror, a spokesman at the Israeli Ministry of Defence, says that without the international aid organisations there would be a humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian areas. "We don't want a crisis like that," Dror emphasised. "But, if one did emerge, we would have to go in [to the Palestinian areas] and help. But we want the Palestinian Authority to take responsibility, not us."

Gabi Ashkenazi replaced Dan Halutz on Wednesday as the Israeli Chief-of-Staff but the coordination branches are expected to remain the same. However, work with the Palestinian side may improve if the Palestinians establish a unity government, as the military will not deal with Hamas.

Major Peter Lerner, in charge of humanitarian coordination in the Gaza Strip, explains that the army has implemented changes. "Before 2003, we had three people doing this. Now 21 people coordinate humanitarian affairs in the Palestinian areas," he says, "leading to better services and operations."

Making a "criminal"; out of Saint Israel

Making a "criminal" out of Saint Israel

When it comes to Victim Israel, the media "justice" turns 360 degrees.

A fascism that selects Israel for unfair harsh terms & gross language.

When it comes to victim Israel, all hell break lose.

    • Not only don't they appreciate Israel's reluctance from going on the lose like Arab neighbors, Syria & Jordan that "dealt" with violent "uprising" by just massacring thousands randomly.

But it calls Israeli restrained minimal defense-of-lives actions against terror aggression as "aggressive".

    • Not only don't they appreciate Israel's beautiful treatment of it's minorities including favoring it's Arab citizens over Israeli Jewish majority in court cases, in access to the holy-site of the temple mount, (not excluding known Muslim fascists living inside Israel that call for racist genocide of the Jews & ethnic cleansing & voice their opinion openly in Israel's free equal democracy) & in the imbalance unfairness in obligating Israeli Jews to serve in the army, whereas Arabs are exempt.

But it calls Israel's security check points after arresting Israeli Arabs in terror activities as "racism".

    • Not only don't they appreciate Israel's aid & humanitarian help for "Palestinians" including free treatment in hospitals for many "Palestinian" kids injured due to "Palestinian" -- crimes against humanity -- adults' violent intifadah... using their kids as weapons or as shields, as well as basically feeding much of their population.

But it interprets Israeli shielding themselves from Arab attackers, shooting behind little kids as "crimes against humanity".

    • Not only don't they appreciate Israel's ongoing gestures to "Palestinians" crossing over to the Israeli side, looking away strict anti terror measures, when "Palestinians" not only practice apartheid against Jews, but Hamas raises it's Islamic Apartheid against Christian Arabs too.

But it calls it's anti-genocide-bombers barrier an "apartheid wall".

    • Not only don't they appreciate Israel's multiracial nation that has Arab Muslims representatives in it's highest offices in the government, even at the height of racism from Israeli Arabs towards Israeli Jews manifested in protests and in aiding bombers.

But these ungrateful Israeli Arabs cry "racism".

    • Not only don't they appreciate Israel's evacuating Gaza from non Arabs, from Jews, when fascist "Palestine" doesn't allow any Jew to live in it's so called "territories", but it's these ethnic cleansing masters that cry "ethnic cleansing".

In no way can the treatment of Arabs by the State of Israel be compared to the treatment of the Blacks of South Africa under apartheid. There is no Israeli ideology, policy or plan to segregate, persecute or mistreat the Arab population. Democracy is the cornerstone of the State of Israel. Israel makes no distinction between its Arab and Jewish citizens. Israeli Arab citizens enjoy the same rights as their Jewish neighbors. They are also free to practice their religion without discrimination, in accordance with Israel's commitment to democracy and freedom. As in every country, much more needs to be done to promote greater educational and employment opportunities for minorities, particularly for Israeli Arabs. The Israeli government has committed to investing in the necessary infrastructure and assistance for these communities.

The 2,500-kilometre-long defensive wall built by Morocco constituted a de facto annexation of the larger part of the Territory. That “apartheid wall” had been humiliating the Saharawi people for two decades and had converted the Sahara into a ghetto.

If you guessed that the barrier in question was Israel’s West Bank security fence, guess again. It surrounds the Spanish enclave of Melilla, on the Mediterranean coast of Morocco, a remnant of Spain’s colonial past. Morocco argues, with considerable regional support, that Melilla and another Spanish coastal enclave, Ceuta, are in fact occupied Moroccan territory, and must be returned.

As the Wall Street Journal—Europe pointed out in a recent editorial (Sept. 26), there are two major differences between the fence around Melilla and Israel’s security barrier. One is that no-one is protesting that this fence is illegal, a barrier to peace or a land grab, and no-one calls it an "apartheid wall", even though its intent is very much to separate people along largely ethnic lines. In fact, the EU, which has protested so vigorously against Israel’s barrier, is actually helping Spain to fund the fence.

The other difference is the intent — the Melilla barrier is not intended to save lives or prevent terrorism. It is there to keep out largely sub-Saharan Africans looking for a better life in Europe, and who become free to move about Europe once they get into Melilla, which is a part of Spain and thus a part of the EU.

Palestinian Arab Muslims first class citizens in Israel whereas Israeli Jews are second class citizens?

Imagine, Israeli non Arabs (i.e., Jews) have to put up with:1) Back stabbing -- example #1:Constant finding out on more and more Israeli Arabs aiding genocide bombers (whether with info or more than that), stabbing the very Israel, they're citizens of, thus indirectly murdering their fellow Israelis, the Israeli Jews...2) Back stabbing -- example #2:

The Israeli Arab parliament members constantly whine about being "second class" citizens, after getting free education and achieving whatever they achieve, inside equal-rights & equal-access democractic Israel. As payback, these back stabbers are tarnishing Israel's image all over, especially on Arab global media.

    3) Uneven rights -- Arab's advantage over Jews:

Israeli Arabs (unlike Israeli Jews) are exempt from serving in Israeli army (which is naturally for the protection of all Israelis), still they enjoy the same rights as Israeli Jews: voting, education, free speech, etc.

    4) Now the favorite part: Israeli Courts (& often security) favor Israeli Arabs over Jews
    Who's second class now?

    5) Wait, there's more: Israeli government allowing Arabs more rights far MORE than Jews, blatantly, especially in access to land.

    Who's second class now?

Moreover, when it comes to residential land, the ILA sometimes offers Israeli Arabs more favorable terms from than it does to Israeli Jews. Thus, the ILA charged the equivalent of $24,000 for a capital lease on a quarter of an acre in new Jewish communities near Beersheva while Bedouin families in the nearby community of Rahat paid only $150 for the same amount of land.16 In a different case, when a Jewish policeman from Beersheva, Eleizer Avitan, applied to the ILA to lease land in a Bedouin community under the same highly subsidized terms available to the Bedouins, the ILA refused to lease him land there under any terms, so he sued. Israel's Supreme Court ruled in favor of the ILA, saying that what might be viewed as ILA discrimination against the Jewish citizen Avitan was justified as affirmative action for Bedouin citizens.17

In several cases, where Palestinian farmers utilized the Israeli court system to lodge complaints that the army was unnecessarily taking land without proper military purpose, the Israeli High Court of Justice decided in favor of the plaintiffs. The army site at Beth El (near Ramallah) is the best-known case, and probably one of the few cases in all of world history where the legal system of the victorious country decided in favor of the defeated, contrary to the security-related demands of the army. The IDF was forced to move its base about ten kilometers further west, to accommodate the land claims of the local Palestinians. http://www.think-israel.org/meir-levi.settlements.html

Israel’s Supreme Court is perhaps the worst enemy and offender favoring Arabs over Jews in its self-image of supreme fairness and justice. It has given its “supreme” ruling against an area of peace and security which should be left to military and security experts – a supreme ruling against the security barrier and separation fence against terrorism in support of a similar stupid ruling by the Arab-Islamist controlled U.N. International Court of Justice (or Injustice as the case may be). What about the rights of Jews in Arab controlled and dominated lands and nations? Are there any? http://www.opinioneditorials.com/guestcontributors/gfitleberg_20050130.html/span>

Affirmative Action ? the Israeli Edition It is now official. Last week, the Israeli Council on Higher Education decided to make Jews second class citizens within Israeli universities. Yes, after 1,300 years in which Jews were discriminated against in the Middle East and discrimination in favor of Arabs took place, the semi-governmental Council on Higher Education has decided that Israeli universities must discriminate in favor of Arab. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/844

More on Arabs, Muslims (first class citizens inside Israel) having more rights than Jews in Israel

    Jerusalem holy sites

The Israeli government shied away from ensuring the right of Jews to pray on the temple Mount, opting instead to grant the Muslims the right to administer the Mount. Jewish prayer was immediately forbidden.

Regardless of what the Judaic law says about permitting Jews on the temple mount, the issue of Arabs, Muslims INSIDE Israel's democracy having far more rights is overwheling.

Gov't Allows Arabs To Squat on Jewish Farmland 22:19 Jan 07, '07
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=118929 [again the Israeli very govt. gives more rights to Israeli-Arabs intruders over Israeli-Jews].

(IsraelNN.com) The Civil Lands Administration has allowed Arabs from Yatta,
near Hevron, to squat on land 10 miles away that has been farmed by Jews for
10 years. Nearby residents of Beit Yatir, in the southern Hevron Hills,
protested on the property Friday, claiming that the presence of the Arabs
presents a danger to the area.
"Their tractors are unlicensed and they drive them on the roads at night
without lights," said a Yatir spokesman. Army officers who arrived on the
scene confirmed that the Arabs left their identity cards at a nearby
checkpoint because they had no permit to live on the grounds, but Civil Lands
officers later said temporary permission would be given until the dispute is
    settled in the courts.

Israel is the only country in the Middle East in which an Arab can file a case against his country in the Supreme Court. Israel's Supreme Court is among the finest courts in the world today. It enforces the rule of law on a daily basis against inevitable abuses that occur when a nation is at war. As we look at the United States Supreme Court this week there are two big cases -- the Hamdi case and the Padilla case. At question is if we can detain and hold terrorist combatants at Guantanamo indefinitely, while deciding if they are prisoners of war or common criminals.
One has only to look to Israel, which see resolved these things 20 years ago.
We see that the Israelis routinely decide in favor of the Palestinians against their own government. In 1989, Justice Brennan, perhaps the most liberal justice in America's court, went to Israel at the invitation of Justice Aharon Barak of the Israeli Supreme Court. Brennan said, "God forbid that terrorism should ever come to the shores of the United States. At least we in America have the model to help balance the needs of security against the needs of liberty. That model is Israel."

For non-Jewish citizens of Israel, the answer to all these questions is "Yes. Unequivocally." Israeli Arab citizens are by law equal to Jewish citizens; they enjoy the same rights and are legally protected from discrimination. Non-Jews enjoy every freedom that democracies recognize, including freedom of worship, the free expression and exercise of religion, equality of financial, material, and employment opportunity, political power, and all legal rights. Indeed, Israel's Declaration of Independence demands nothing less. According to the Declaration, the Jewish state "will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions." Israel's Arab citizens have, in fact, reached positions on Israel's Supreme Court and have elected powerful parties in the Israeli Knesset that fully participate in Israeli political life.
