Moderate PA Plot to Assasinate Olmert

Moderate PA Plot to Assasinate Olmert

It should be clear by now that PA President and Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas has no ability nor intention of curbing the terrorists that make up the PA.

This is sheer fantasy.

The only difference between Fatah and Hamas is tactics. Hamas wants to destroy Israel immediately, Fatah is willing to work through various stages for Israel's annihilation, aiming for a one-state solution, which would mean the end of the Jewish state and dhimmitude for Jews and Christians—at best.

Of course, the Arabs can always count on fifth columnists like Yossi Beilin who urge Israel to keep on negotiating even as terrorists plot a final solution. Belilin and his ilk have zero understanding of the enemy, zero comprehension that Israel and the West are locked in a life and death struggle with Muslim jihadists who have no interest in compromise.

Once again we are living in 1938, and once again the Jews are the canaries in the coal mine. And once again, as in Communist Russia, the Jews on the left have become the most implacable foes of the Jewish people.
Some of the five Fatah operatives suspected of plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Ehud Olmert were members of the PA security forces and were meant to guard the prime minister's convoy, Chanel 2 quoted Israeli security officials as saying on Sunday.

Earlier Sunday, Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin informed the cabinet of the plot to fire at the prime minister's convoy during a trip to Jericho to meet with PA President Mahmoud Abbas on August 6.

In the wake of the plot, the Shin Bet said it would now prevent any meetings involving Israeli officials in Area A - the area under full Palestinian control.

Editorial: Mahmoud Abbas the Moderate?

Editorial: Mahmoud Abbas the Moderate?

July 3, 2007 - 11:43am Extras
By Don Winter

Yesterday, I had the unexpected pleasure of watching the great Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian people bemoaning the violence that has been planned against his person and the de-facto violence that has been committed against his own goons by Hamas. Yet, during the speech he didn’t miss an opportunity to blame Israel as the reason for the violence.

If some Jews on this globe decide to view Abbas as a benevolent moderate, they must be the same ones who believed that the Nazis had nothing against the Jews, and all they wanted was to put the starch back in the collective backbones of the defeated German people. After all, it was the Jews who did the stabbing of Germany in the back in the First World War. The pages of the Jewish newspapers were also full of the wisdom of the opinions of the Jewish leadership at the time. You were hearing the expression of the clear Jewish logic that was prevalent before the Second World War. “Why be afraid of the Nazis, when we all know that we are the only ones who can speak with them?” — meaning Yiddish. The Jews were also reasoning that since they are the ones who are best skilled and most educated, the Nazis will “need us and won’t let anything to happen to us.”

It was Rabin who was the first in the post-Holocaust era to come up with the new version of the “they need us” folly. “You can only make peace with your enemy,” he said. This declaration is as stupid as it sounds. You don’t make peace with your enemy; you defeat them first and then deprive them of their leadership that was leading them against you. After that you can start being friendly with your former enemies and begin a dialogue.

If you can’t defeat your enemy then the only thing you can do is to wait for generations until a new generation and time will lead your enemy to a new reality. The most important issue that you must make your enemy understand is to let them know that you are here to stay and that the only thing they can do is accept you as a historical reality. Instead, what is taking place is the Peace Now activist view that every Arab terrorist is a potential peace partner of Israel. The Arabs, on the other hand, view the Jews, who are among the most ancient people of the region, as foreign intruders that have no business to live in that region of the earth.

Mahmoud Abbas is the battered president of the Palestinian Authority, who has lost all his authority to the bloodthirsty and Israel-hating Hamas. The sad part about Abbas is that his authority has never come from the Palestinians but was handed to him by the peace-hungry West, mainly the Israelis and the Americans. Yet the peaceful Abbas has never had peace in his heart toward Israel and the Jews. He was and is a bona fide terrorist, and a classic anti-Semite. He is one of the founding fathers of Al Fatah, the foremost controlling political group within the PLO. Abbas the man is purported to be very intelligent, has studied law in Egypt and finished his doctorate studies in Moscow. As a result of his studies, he became the author of several books. In his supposedly scholarly work he wrote that the real number of Jews who died during the Holocaust was a mere few hundred thousand instead of the six million that the Jews were claiming.

He not only downplayed the number of Jewish Holocaust victims but also accused the Jews of collaborating with the Nazis.

This is the real Abbas, deliberately dishonest to the core.

Unfortunately the road of lies and deceit that Abbas chooses to travel on does not lead to the peace that he promised to the Israelis, nor does it lead to the victory over the Jews and Israel as he and his partner Arafat promised to their people. Instead of leading the Palestinians to the gates of nirvana his people have been led by the Abbas-Arafat duo straight to the gates of the abyss of a civil war. It is not that Abbas doesn’t know the truth, but he chooses to lie and tries to cheat because that is what he was doing all his life when wanting to gain success.

This is the same man, who with all his guile was playing the role of a pragmatist and a peaceful man. No, there can be nothing further from the truth. Abbas is instead a patient man who will never deviate from his purpose but his methods can always change according to his needs. Not once did the man give up the demand that the Palestinians have an unalterable right of
return. That of course on practical terms would mean the destruction of Israel.

He is currently working together with various terrorist groups that are mortal enemies of the state of Israel but are also the enemies of Hamas. Yet the greed forces both Olmert and Bush to sit down with that sly Jew hater and to perpetuate the continued existence of this man who represents nothing but his past failures.

With Abbas’ stock at zero points with the Palestinians, what is the incentive for the other Arab countries, Israel and the United States to prop up this unsuccessful nobody who has lost an open election to the religious fundamentalist group of Hamas, and then dramatically lost an armed conflict to them just recently. Why waste our time, money and the lives of many to prop up this politically dead agent for the sake of chasing a dream whose time has not yet come … namely peace in our lifetime?

The reason is because Abbas like his mentor and predecessor Arafat does not want peace, but victory at the expense of the existence of Israel.

Terrorist groups, including Hamas and the Popular Resistance Committees, have reportedly seized large quantities of CIA security files that were stored at major compounds of militias associated with the U.S.-backed Fatah organization.

"The CIA files we seized, which include documents, CDs, taped conversations and videos, are more important than all the American weapons we obtained the last two days as we took over the traitor Fatah’s positions," said Muhammad Abdel-El, spokesman for the Hamas-allied Popular Resistance Committees.

The terrorist group has been accused of carrying out anti-U.S. attacks, including a 2003 bombing of an American convoy in Gaza that killed three U.S. contractors.

The spokesman said the CIA documents they browsed so far contain "information about the collaboration between Fatah and the Israeli and American security organizations; CIA methods on how to prevent attacks, how to chase and follow after cells of Hamas and the Committees; plans about Fatah assassinations of members of Hamas and other organizations; and American studies on the security situation in Gaza."

He claimed the documents also detailed CIA networks in other Arab countries and "how to help beat Islamic allies of Hamas in other Arab countries, including Egypt and Jordan."

Hamas’s Al Aksa Television this week also broadcast footage of Hamas gunmen brandishing American assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, rocket launchers and ammunition the U.S. reportedly provided to Fatah over the past few months. Hamas fighters also showed what they said were 10 American-provided armored personnel carriers the terror group said it seized from Fatah security compounds it took over Tuesday.

More Aid To Abbas

Even after the Hamas takeover of U.S.-backed Palestinian security compounds in Gaza and seizure of large quantities of American weapons, the Bush administration is contemplating sending more weapons to the Palestinians and is asking Israel to make security concessions to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Israeli and Palestinian diplomatic sources said.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced the U.S. will resume "full assistance to the Palestinian government," lifting an economic and political embargo against the Palestinian government enacted after Hamas came to power in March 2006.

Rice said she will ask Congress to rework a previous $86 million aid package to Abbas that was lowered following concerns by some lawmakers that some of the money would end up financing terrorism.

According to Palestinian and Israeli diplomatic sources, the bulk of the $86 million is slated to be used to fund Force 17, which serves as de facto police units in the West Bank.

Many members of Force 17 are also openly members of the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, which took responsibility together with Islamic Jihad for every suicide bombing in Israel during the last two years.

A Palestinian diplomatic source told WND the PA wants to use some of the money "to purchase equipment to help secure the Palestinian Authority against coups by other competing groups attempting to hijack our government."

Christians in Gaza Must Accept Muslim Law

Christians can continue living safely in the Gaza Strip only if they accept Islamic law, including a ban on alcohol and on women roaming publicly without proper head coverings, an Islamist militant leader in Gaza told WND in an exclusive interview.

The militant leader said Christians in Gaza who engage in "missionary activity" will be "dealt with harshly."

"I expect our Christian neighbors to understand the new Hamas rule means real changes. They must be ready for Islamic rule if they want to live in peace in Gaza," said Sheik Abu Saqer, leader of Jihadia Salafiya, an Islamic outreach movement that recently announced the opening of a "military wing" to enforce Muslim law in Gaza.

Jihadia Salafiya is suspected of attacking a United Nations school in Gaza last month after the school allowed boys and girls to participate in the same sporting event. One person was killed in that attack.

"Jihadia Salafiya and other Islamic movements will ensure Christian schools and institutions show publicly what they are teaching to be sure they are not carrying out missionary activity. No more alcohol on the streets.

"All women, including non-Muslims, need to understand they must be covered at all times while in public," Abu Asqer told WND.

"Also the activities of Internet cafes, pool halls and bars must be stopped," he said. "If it goes on, we’ll attack these things very harshly."

Abu Saqer accused the leadership of the Gaza Christian community of "proselytizing and trying to convert Muslims with funding from American evangelicals."

"This missionary activity is endangering the entire Christian community in Gaza," he said.

Abu Saqer claimed there was "no need" for the thousands of Christians in Gaza to maintain a large number of institutions in the territory.

About 2,000 Christians live in the Gaza Strip, which has a population of over 1 million.

Five questions non-Muslims would like answered

This from 2005, but as relevant today as ever...

Five questions non-Muslims would like answered

http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=18235

By Dennis Prager

Dennis Prager's nationally syndicated radio show is heard daily in Los Angeles on KRLA-AM (870). He may be contacted through his website: www.dennisprager.com.

November 13, 2005

THE RIOTING IN France by primarily Muslim youths and the hotel bombings in Jordan are the latest events to prompt sincere questions that law-abiding Muslims need to answer for Islam's sake, as well as for the sake of worried non-Muslims.

Here are five of them:

(1) Why are you so quiet?

Since the first Israelis were targeted for death by Muslim terrorists blowing themselves up in the name of your religion and Palestinian nationalism, I have been praying to see Muslim demonstrations against these atrocities. Last week's protests in Jordan against the bombings, while welcome, were a rarity. What I have seen more often is mainstream Muslim spokesmen implicitly defending this terror on the grounds that Israel occupies Palestinian lands. We see torture and murder in the name of Allah, but we see no anti-torture and anti-murder demonstrations in the name of Allah.

There are a billion Muslims in the world. How is it possible that essentially none have demonstrated against evils perpetrated by Muslims in the name of Islam? This is true even of the millions of Muslims living in free Western societies. What are non-Muslims of goodwill supposed to conclude? When the Israeli government did not stop a Lebanese massacre of Palestinians in the Sabra and Chatilla refugee camps in Lebanon in 1982, great crowds of Israeli Jews gathered to protest their country's moral failing. Why has there been no comparable public demonstration by Palestinians or other Muslims to morally condemn Palestinian or other Muslim-committed terror?

(2) Why are none of the Palestinian terrorists Christian?

If Israeli occupation is the reason for Muslim terror in Israel, why do no Christian Palestinians engage in terror? They are just as nationalistic and just as occupied as Muslim Palestinians.

(3) Why is only one of the 47 Muslim-majority countries a free country?

According to Freedom House, a Washington-based group that promotes democracy, of the world's 47 Muslim countries, only Mali is free. Sixty percent are not free, and 38% are partly free. Muslim-majority states account for a majority of the world's "not free" states. And of the 10 "worst of the worst," seven are Islamic states. Why is this?

(4) Why are so many atrocities committed and threatened by Muslims in the name of Islam?

Young girls in Indonesia were recently beheaded by Muslim murderers. Last year, Muslims — in the name of Islam — murdered hundreds of schoolchildren in Russia. While reciting Muslim prayers, Islamic terrorists take foreigners working to make Iraq free and slaughter them. Muslim daughters are murdered by their own families in the thousands in "honor killings." And the Muslim government in Iran has publicly called for the extermination of Israel.

(5) Why do countries governed by religious Muslims persecute other religions?

No church or synagogue is allowed in Saudi Arabia. The Taliban destroyed some of the greatest sculptures of the ancient world because they were Buddhist. Sudan's Islamic regime has murdered great numbers of Christians.

Instead of confronting these problems, too many of you deny them. Muslims call my radio show to tell me that even speaking of Muslim or Islamic terrorists is wrong. After all, they argue, Timothy McVeigh is never labeled a "Christian terrorist." As if McVeigh committed his terror as a churchgoing Christian and in the name of Christ, and as if there were Christian-based terror groups around the world.

As a member of the media for nearly 25 years, I have a long record of reaching out to Muslims. Muslim leaders have invited me to speak at major mosques. In addition, I have studied Arabic and Islam, have visited most Arab and many other Muslim countries and conducted interfaith dialogues with Muslims in the United Arab Emirates as well as in the U.S. Politically, I have supported creation of a Palestinian state and supported (mistakenly, I now believe) the Oslo accords.

Hundreds of millions of non-Muslims want honest answers to these questions, even if the only answer you offer is, "Yes, we have real problems in Islam." Such an acknowledgment is infinitely better — for you and for the world — than dismissing us as anti-Muslim.

We await your response.

Visiting Muslim academic defends Israel’s existence

Visiting Muslim academic defends Israel’s existence
http://www.ajn.com.au/news/news.asp?pgID=2583

Yoni Bashan

A VISITING Muslim academic from Bangladesh has called on all Muslims to accept Israel’s right to exist.
Associate Professor Ehsanul Haque, 42, made the remark at the Australian Association of Jewish Studies annual conference at the University of Sydney’s Mandelbaum House earlier this week.
Associate Professor Haque – whose homeland has no diplomatic ties with the Jewish State – criticised the Bangladeshi Government for being “too conservative” and rife with “extremists”.
The academic, who openly lauded Israel’s right to statehood in his presentation, titled “The Jewish leaders: in search of a just peace with the Muslims”, told the AJN: “The problem is that Bangladesh is an extremely conservative society and people are largely ignorant about other religions.
“So that’s why misunderstandings often come up between people,” he said.
The Australian Association of Jewish Studies sponsored Associate Professor Haque to fly to Australia for the conference after he submitted his paper – with the inherent risks he may face when he returns home.
Bangladesh is the third-largest Muslim nation in the world and one of 31 states which refuse to establish diplomatic ties with Israel. In the past, the government has detained people attempting to visit the Jewish State.
A fellow countryman, journalist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, is currently facing sedition charges for attempting to visit Israel in 2003 for a conference.
He was reportedly detained, tortured and kept in isolation for over a year under suspicion that he was an Israeli spy.
Eventually released, he was later assaulted at his newspaper’s office by members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, who have alleged ties with Jemaah Islamiah. If found guilty, he faces the death penalty.
But Associate Professor Haque said that despite his outspoken views, he has no qualms about returning to the country this week.
“I strongly believe that what I feel is not wrong.
“A gulf of misunderstanding exists between the Jews and the Muslims. And there are moderate Muslim groups as well who always speak for greater harmony and cooperation.”
A lecturer of international relations at the University of Dhaka, he said anti-Israel rhetoric dominated academic debate, and said it was his duty to balance his students’ biased perspectives.
“A lot of my students show their intolerance toward Jews and Israel. So I thought as a faculty member I should give a balanced view to students as a moral responsibility.”
Acclaimed international scholars at the two-day conference included Islam expert Professor Raphael Israeli and Holocaust scholar Professor Yehuda Bauer. The conference also attracted academics from Germany, Wales and New York.
The event, convened by Associate Professor Suzanne Rutland, has taken place annually for the past 19 years and will be held at Melbourne’s Monash University next year.
