Gantz: IDF will continue to respond forcefully, sensitively [Ynetnews]

IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz said: “Zuhir al-Qaisi and other terrorists killed were involved in planning a deadly terror attack against Israeli civilians, which was suppose to come out of Gaza through Sinai.”

“Over 120 rockets have been fired at Israel and 20% of them could have caused death and distruction within the Israeli populations. They were interceted by the Iron Dome. The IDF responded and will continue to do so with force and sensitivity over any attack on Israel. We are not interested in escalation, but Hamas is the sovereign,” Gantz added. (Yoav Zitun)

Some 200,000 Israeli children throughout southern Israel spent Sunday hiding in bomb shelters instead of going to school as Gaza-based Palestinian terrorists continued pouring missiles and mortars into the area.

By midday Sunday, some 130 projectiles had been fired at communities across the western Negev region over a 48-hour period. At least two dozen Israelis have been injured, some seriously.

Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system has managed to intercept 28 out of 31 of the more dangerous Grad-type missiles, but simply cannot provide a comprehensive shield against such an onslaught.

Gaza's Christians Worried About Ethnic Cleansing

Israel’s Channel 2 News reported last week that Christians in the Gaza Strip are being persecuted and victimized by Hamas activists, simply because they are Christians and not Muslims.

According to some of the testimonies received by Channel 2 News, Muslim extremists in Gaza burned down a Christian library located at the centre of the strip, and a few weeks later burned down a Christian school as well.

Kamal El-Tarazi, a former senior security official in the Palestinian Authority, said in an interview that he was shot at by gunmen while he was driving in his car in Gaza. After hiding in Christian cemeteries and churches, El-Tarazi made his way to the West Bank to seek asylum, while leaving behind his wife and daughter.

El-Tarazi described some of the hostile activities towards Christians in the Gaza Strip, among them attacks on Christian organizations and churches. He also claimed that Christian women who do not wear a veil have acid thrown in their faces. Gazan Christians continuously tell of incidents of shootings and arson.

Channel 2 News reported that the Christian community in Gaza consists today of only 1,500 people, down from 4,500 at the time Hamas took over the Strip in 2007. A particular incident which caused a large number of Christians to leave the Strip was the murder of a young Baptist Christian who was involved in charity activities Gaza.

Saba Hir, a senior priest summarized by saying he was concerned about an ethnic cleansing of the Christians in Gaza.

JENINITIS

JENINITIS

Jeninitis is Islamic Palestinian Pallywood’s syndrome of lying, 1) inflating numbers of casualties, collateral by-standers in Israel’s anti terrorists operation (heck, they even had the audacity to add dead bodies dug out of graves),

2) Lying about the authentic percentage of combatants vs non-combatants, all as part of its staged drama hype, their strategy is, first lie, after the anti Israel bigoted tarnishing bombarding propaganda is done, whatever real facts surface later on, don’t matter, as the damage to Israel is already done.

In Jenin 2002, the Arab Palestinians have been exposed as inflating the numbers of casualties on Israel’s operation, Saeb Erekat initially claimed on CNN that there were more than 500 dead, at the end it turned out that there were no more than (around) 50, mostly combatants.

When confronted on CNN on the ‘numbers’, he stuttered, spun, and changed subject.

So was the case in Dec. - Jan. 2009, at operation ‘Cast Lead’ against Palestinian Islamic terrorists Hamas (who openly seeks annihilation of all Jews in the area) rockets targeting of Israeli southern zone, where about a Million civilians were under their range, fear of terror, and using Arab civilians to mingle with them and as shields to cause as many civilian casualties, the world TV have been broadcasting constantly from Jihadists’

Hamas hospitals with invented exaggerated numbers up to 1,200 and up.

Later on it turned out that no more than 500-600 have died, and of course, 90% were Hamas terror combatants.

Point is, that a death cult “people” that are willing to murder (directly or indirectly) its own civilians for the sake of gaining sympathy to its fake victimhood, there is never a shred of logic to take seriously anything coming from their “source”, unless it's the part when they declare they want to 'kill you'.

The Humane Aspect of anti terror airstrikes in Gaza

The Humane Aspect of anti terror airstrikes in Gaza
How does Israel’s humane army manage to cause only a few hundreds deaths (w/ 90% terrorists) after so many strikes in 5 days?

Let’s see, 5 days of continues bombardment of (specific terrorists’ targets) - hundreds of air strikes, and only about 400 are dead?

How do the cool and compassionate soldiers manage to avoid so many casualties, each bombing (coming from that famous “strong Israeli army” which the Arabs keep reminding us) could at least kill a few hundreds if one is not very careful.

This relative success - While the terrible Muslim radicals (Hamas or Hezbollah, etc.) keep tricking in civilians into dying (Let alone the sad fact of “densely populated” Gaza), especially little kids, for the goal of appearing as “victims” and tarnishing Israeli who is in fact the only party in the entire neighborhood that couldn’t care less about image but about saving lives, on both sides.
Yet, all the biased CNN, BBC can talk about is: “civilians” deaths.

Where does CNN get the "info" that there are "scores of civilians" in the op. targeting Hamas?

Where does CNN get the "info" that there are "scores of civilians" in the op. targeting Hamas? Dec 29, 2008 Where on earth does CNN get the “information” that there are “scores of civilians” (Jim Clancy this morning) in the air strike targeting Hamas? CNN admits that they are not allowed into Gaza because of the danger, so they “rely” on Arab “journalists” but mainly on Palestinian sources in Gaza for info, oh well, because the Pallywood is a new thing? have they not been known to add dead bodies in Jenin or to fake images as a whole?

We realize that they have SOME kids dead, as this was Hamas’ (like Hezbollah's) intention when they fire rockets from most densely-populated houses (that's what anti-human Islamists do) , so that their graphic ‘shocking’ photos gets spread well in the “world propaganda arena”, but “scores” - out of the 300?

How do they know that it's not the 90% Islamic Hamas? Why would there be only 300 dead after 3 days of pounding warplanes if humane Israel really hadn't be careful NOT to hit at civilians?

Hamas "Explains" CRIMINAL Use of Civilians as Human Shields

Hamas Explains Use of Civilians as Human Shields

By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook

"We desire death as you desire life."

The UN announcement that 51 civilians have died in the conflict in Gaza must be understood in the context of Hamas's declared ideology to use civilians as human shields for Hamas fighters. Indeed, Hamas continues to emphasize and promote the religious ideology that death for Allah is an ideal to be actively pursued.

The goal is to convince Palestinians, including women and children, not to fear death but even to face it at the front to protect Hamas fighters. Hamas's placement of its military installations and fighters among civilians reflects this ideology, and has led to these 51 deaths.

A Hamas representative in the PA legislative council this year expressed pride in the fact that women and children are used as human shields in fighting Israel. He described it as part of a "death industry" at which Palestinians excel, and explained that the Palestinians "desire death" with the same intensity that Israelis "desire life."

The following is the full text of the comments by Hamas representative Fathi Hamad: "For the Palestinian people death became an industry, at which women excel and so do all people on this land: the elderly excel, the Jihad fighters excel, and the children excel. Accordingly [Palestinians] created a human shield of women, children, the elderly and the Jihad fighters against the Zionist bombing machine, as if they were saying to the Zionist enemy: We desire death as you desire life."

The Mistakes That Launched 3,000 Rockets

By Richard A. Baehr
When Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon withdrew 8,000 residents and all of its defense forces from the Gaza Strip in the late summer of 2005, he offered several rationales to support what he called "disengagement." Regrettably, all but one have proven to be illusory. The result has been disastrous -- leading to the creation of a lawless terrorist haven in the Gaza Strip from which the controlling Hamas faction has lobbed thousands of crude rockets indiscriminately into southern Israel, precipitating a new generation of terror attacks against the Jewish state.

Demographics

One argument cited was the need to take the teeming Gaza Strip out of the Israeli-Palestinian demographic equation. It was estimated that some 1.5 million Palestinians live in Gaza, 2.5 million Palestinians live in the West Bank, and one million Arabs lives inside Israel's green line. This population of 5 million Arabs roughly matched Israel's Jewish population of 5 million. Thus, Sharon reasoned, with just the West Bank under Israeli control, the concern that Israeli Jews would soon be a minority between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River appeared less foreboding, or at least not for several decades.

As it turns out, the demographic scenarios promulgated by those who advocated for an Israeli withdrawal from both Gaza and the West Bank were wildly off the mark. As noted by researchers Bennett Zimmerman and Michael Wise in the pages of inFocus Quarterly, the Palestinian census counters inflated the Palestinian population in the West Bank and Gaza, while also exaggerating the annual population growth rate for the Palestinians.

In retrospect, the Gaza withdrawal may have lifted the Jewish percentage in the remaining areas under Israeli control, but the move was premature if not completely unnecessary.

Preventing Terror

A second rationale was that if Israeli settlers were removed from Gaza, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) would have no civilian population to protect, thereby relieving the army of the need to remain. Gaza, after all, had never been a major source of the suicide bombing attacks that had occurred inside Israel's green line. In fact, throughout the "al-Aqsa intifada" that began in 2000, only one such attack originated in Gaza, when foreign nationals traveling to Israel from Gaza with British passports devastated Mike's Bar, a popular pub near the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv in 2003. The IDF had simply erected a fence to surround Gaza, preventing untold numbers of suicide attacks.

In the years since its 2005 withdrawal, the IDF has learned a difficult lesson: suicide bombing is not the only way for terrorist to inflict harm upon Israeli civilians. Indeed, a fence cannot prevent projectiles such as rockets, missiles, or mortars aimed at close-by Israeli communities.

These attacks began soon after the Gaza fence was completed in 2001, but increased substantially year after year. Over the last seven years, Palestinian rockets have become increasingly lethal, with longer trajectories. Conservative estimates suggest that 3,000 rockets have been fired into Israel, not to mention mortars and missiles. The rockets now reach Ashkelon, a city of over 100,000 people, with key infrastructure, including a major Israeli port.

It is unclear whether Israel assumed that the Palestinian Authority would want to keep a lid on rocket fire from Gaza, since a period of "quiet" might encourage further Israeli withdrawals from the West Bank. If this ever was the case, things certainly changed in June 2007, when Hamas' one week military coup decimated the PA's grip on power in Gaza. Since then, rockets have been landing at an increasingly rapid rate.

Public Relations

A third rationale for Gaza disengagement was that Israel, often maligned in the mainstream media, would win a public relations victory from its unilateral withdrawal. This was wishful thinking. While the media has occasionally heaped scorn upon Hamas for its indiscriminate rocket attacks, the disengagement has done little to improve Israel's steady drubbing when it defends itself.

Sadly, the occasional criticism of Hamas violence seems to suggest that indiscriminate attacks on Israeli civilian targets were somehow more justified during the period when Israel controlled Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel is still castigated by the United Nations, left-leaning Human Rights groups and NGOs, and, of course, the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference. These groups can no longer castigate Israel for occupying the Gaza Strip so they now level new charges of collective punishment against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, when Israel responds with military operations in the areas where the rockets are launched.

A Gesture For Peace

A fourth rationale for the Gaza withdrawal was that it would lead to an improved atmosphere between Israel and the PA, and perhaps nudge both parties towards negotiating peace. The Olmert and Abbas governments are now busy negotiating a "shelf" agreement, but it is one in which even the most ardent peace pundits have little to no faith.

There are currently two Palestinian entities: Hamastan in Gaza, and the PA under Mahmoud Abbas, which maintains only tenuous control in the West Bank. If not for a steady IDF presence, analysts believe Hamas could easily take over. The PA is negotiating with Israel as if it controls Gaza , and Israel plays along. Only, Hamas is as much at war with the PA, as they are with Israel.

Let Gazans Control Their Destiny

The final rationale for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 may prove to be the only one with validity. Optimists viewed Palestinian "sovereignty" in Gaza as a way for the Palestinians to demonstrate that, once in control of their own destiny, Gazans could take responsibility for their quality of life and their economic condition.

At least in one way, this has been a successful experiment. Hamas has demonstrated ingenuity in two areas: construction of smuggling tunnels under the border crossing between Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and Gaza, and mass-producing rockets with more precise targeting ability, greater firing range, and more destructive capability. While both endeavors have increased Hamas' ability to strike at Israeli civilians, they have done little to help the Palestinian national cause. By their own admission, Gazans are awash in misery and poverty.

Before its landslide electoral victory in 2006, Hamas was described by naïve observers as the one Palestinian group free of corruption. Compared to the ossified and corrupt Fatah party, Hamas could claim that it was the good government party, particularly since it had been providing social services to Palestinians through its da'wa (outreach) system for years.

Since the election Hamas has proven that feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and providing medicines to the sick are among its lowest priorities. Rather, Hamas has focused all of its resources on attacking Israel - and even Fatah.

Lessons Learned

There are two painful lessons that can be learned from the daily rocket fire on Sderot, Ashkelon, and other population centers in Israel's south. First, Israeli gestures of good will signal weakness, and can lead to greater Palestinian hostility and violence. Second, half measures never solve any underlying problems.

Indeed, every one of the rationales for the 2005 disengagement envisioned a quiet border, and an improved security situation. Hopefully, the Israelis have learned two more lessons from the Gaza situation: know your enemy, and no more wishful thinking.

GAZA STRIP: UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS ATTACK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL [Islamic "Palestinian" Aparheid]

GAZA STRIP: UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS ATTACK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL [Islamic "Palestinian" Aparheid]
Amid lawlessness and threats, tiny religious minority’s fears grow.
ISTANBUL, June 4 (Compass Direct News) – An attack on a Christian school in Gaza last weekend has created fear among the strip’s tiny religious minority, a Palestinian Christian said.

Armed assailants broke into the El-Manara school in Gaza City’s Zaitoon Quarter at 2 a.m. on Saturday (May 31), according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR). The attackers tied down two school guards and beat them before stealing a bus belonging to the Palestinian Bible Society, the PCHR reported.

The PCHR said that unknown gunmen had carried out a similar attack against the school on February 21.

“The Center strongly condemns the recurrence of these attacks, and calls upon the authorities to investigate them seriously and prosecute the perpetrators,” the PCHR said.

A Palestinian Christian leader who requested anonymity for security reasons said that police had reportedly arrested one of the assailants. But he said it was too early in the investigation to say who was behind the attack.

“It created a lot of fear, and some people are terrified,” he told Compass.

The government’s apparent inability to find and prosecute the instigators of previous attacks was a legitimate cause for fear, he said. Last October, the manager of Gaza’s Bible Society bookshop, Rami Ayyad, was kidnapped and killed. According to Ayyad’s widow, police initially told her family that they had arrested the killer but changed their story a week later and denied having anyone in custody.

Ayyad’s murderer has not yet been found. Ayyad was not an employee of the El-Manara school as some media incorrectly reported, a school official told Compass.

Also in Gaza City, a bomb was detonated outside of the Zahwa Rosary School, run by Catholic nuns, at 4 a.m. on May 16. No one was hurt, and a school official who declined to be named said that it appeared to be the work of a poorly trained individual or group.

“We don’t feel safe. There’s no security here,” the official told The Associated Press (AP) on May 16, noting that police had not arrested the perpetrators of previous attacks against Christians.

Police officials told AP that they were investigating the incident. Monsignor Manuel Musallam, leader of Gaza’s Catholics, was unavailable when Compass contacted him to ask whether police had arrested anyone in relation to the school bombing.

“Christians in Gaza are targeted,” said the Palestinian Christian source who requested anonymity, listing attacks and religiously motivated death threats that members of the minority often receive by telephone, but he also noted that the attacks occurred within an overall situation of growing lawlessness.

“At the same time, you have a ‘loose’ situation in Gaza where people are using weapons and trying to steal,” he said.

The PCHR regularly reports on deaths and injuries caused by intra-Palestinian gun battles and the misuse of weapons in what it terms the “continuation of the security chaos.”

Since Hamas assumed full control of Gaza through violent clashes with its Palestinian rival Fatah in June 2007, Israel has increased already tight sanctions initially imposed following Hamas’ January 2006 electoral victory. Israel began restricting fuel shipments to the coastal strip last September, saying it would not provide goods to an entity whose rulers fire rockets at Israeli citizens.

The blockade has caused economic collapse in Gaza, with approximately 80 percent of Gaza residents relying on humanitarian assistance.

In its annual human rights report published last week, Amnesty International called Gaza “the gravest humanitarian crisis to date.” It condemned Israeli forces for killing 370 Palestinians, half of them civilians and 50 of them children, during attacks launched in retaliation to rocket fire on Israel in the past year.

Gaza’s Christians number approximately 3,000 (mostly Catholic and Greek Orthodox), out of a population of 1.3 million.

Although no group claimed responsibility, Fatah officials accused Hamas of being behind the attack. However, Hamas strongly denied responsibility, saying it had ordered an immediate investigation.
Several al-Qaida-affiliated groups in the Gaza Strip have claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Christian figures and institutions over the past two years. The groups said they would continue their attacks until all 3,000 Christians had left the Gaza Strip.

Gaza Muslims continue ethnic-cleansing effort
Jerusalem Newswire, Israel - Feb 17, 2008

February 17, 2008

Muslims attacked the library of the YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) in Gaza Friday in the latest move to drive Christians and Christianity out of the Islamist-controlled Strip.

According to a report in The Jerusalem Post Sunday, gunmen - some masked, others not - "stormed" the library, kidnapped two security guards, looted electronic equipment and stole a vehicle, then detonated a number of bombs inside the building, totally destroying the book collection.

Intent on making the area Islamically "pure," Muslim Arabs have looked for "reasons" to "justify" their targeting of the tiny Christian community - around 3000 strong - that lives in the midst of Gaza's 1.4 million Muslims.

The persecution has increased since Hamas violently took control of Gaza a year ago.

On October 6 last year, Muslims abducted Rami Ayyad, the manager of Gaza's only Christian bookstore that had been bombed by masked Muslims six months earlier.

Ayyad, 31, was the father of two small children; his wife was pregnant with their third. His shot and repeatedly stabbed body was found a day after he disappeared.

For Gaza's Muslims, ridding themselves of any active Christian presence would be cherry on top after successfully forcing Israel to remove every single Jew from Gaza in 2005.

"Palestinian" crowds have often been heard to chant: "First we'll fight on Saturday and then on Sunday" - meaning, after they rid themselves of Jews they will rid themselves of Christians..
