White House calls on PA "to unequivocally condemn this terrorist attack and for the perpetrators of this heinous crime to be held accountable."



WASHINGTON - The United States on Saturday called the stabbing deaths of five Israelis in the West Bank settlement of Itamar a terrorist attack and urged the Palestinian Authority to "unequivocally" condemn the killings.



"We condemn in the strongest possible terms the murder of five Israelis in a terrorist attack in the northern West Bank, and we offer our condolences to their loved ones and to the Israeli people," the White House said in a statement.



A Jewish couple and three of their children were stabbed to death in Itamar on Saturday in what Israeli officials said was an attack by a Palestinian who broke into their home in the early hours.



"There is no possible justification for the killing of parents and children in their home," The White House said.


"We call on the Palestinian Authority to unequivocally condemn this terrorist attack and for the perpetrators of this heinous crime to be held accountable."

As many in Israel shed a tear, they shake their heads and question: "how can an animal stab a 4-month-old baby to death"?

Most of the world's nations remain quiet, few condemnations have come forth as Islamic Gaza residents from the southern city of Rafah have poured out onto the streets to celebrate the terror attack in West Bank town of Itamar, in which five family members were murdered in their sleep. These "democratic" and "peace loving" nations are quick to grab headlines in criticizing the natural growth of cities and towns in the West Bank - Judea and Samaria - but when it comes to the innocent blood of Jewish children, they are nowhere to be seen.

Arab oil over democracy and basic human rights?

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated this evening: "I would like to express my deep outrage, outrage which is certainly felt by every Israeli over the murder of a young family – father, mother, eleven-year-old boy, four-year-old-boy and four-month-old girl."

"Three orphaned children have been left in this family. One of the girls saw her parents and siblings stabbed to death. The family was brutally murdered in their sleep on the Sabbath. We embrace and support the orphans and the other members of the family. We embrace and support our brothers who reside in Judea and Samaria. Do not be disheartened. I know that this is a difficult time for us, but the entire nation is with you. Since the disaster, this awful murder, became known I have held discussions with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Israel Defense Forces Chief-of-Staff, Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz, ISA Director Yuval Diskin and other senior security officials. I instructed them to make every effort to find the murderers and not to rest until they have been found and brought to justice."

Netanyahu added: "I expect the international community to sharply and unequivocally condemn this murder, the murder of children. I have noticed that several countries that always hasten to the UN Security Council in order to condemn Israel, the state of the Jews, for planning a house in some locality, or for laying some tiles somewhere have been dilatory in sharply condemning the murder of Jewish infants. I expect them to issue such condemnations immediately, without balances, without understandings, without justifications. There is no justification and there can be neither excuse nor forgiveness for the murder of children. I expect a similar condemnation, and I demand a similar condemnation, from the Palestinian Authority. I am disappointed by the weak and mumbled statements. This is not how one condemns terrorism. This is not how one fights terrorism. See how Israeli prime ministers, myself among them, have reacted in similar situations, but there has never been anything like this, in which terrorists entered a home and cut children's throats."

"This requires sharp and unequivocal condemnation. This requires something else. This requires a halt to the incitement. I demand that the Palestinian Authority stop the incitement that is conducted on a daily basis in their schools, mosques and the media under their control. The time has come to stop this double-talk in which the Palestinian Authority outwardly talks peace, and allows – and sometimes leads – incitement at home. The time has come to stop the incitement and begin educating their people for peace."

Israel's Prime Minister concluded: "Despite all the awful pain, I call upon all Israelis to act responsibly, with restraint, and not to take the law into their own hands. When one takes the law into his own hands, there is no law. The IDF and the security forces will carry out their responsibilities; only they. We will not allow terrorism to determine the settlement map. The settlement map will be determined by Government policy, which is in accordance with our national interests, with security first and foremost. Terrorism will not determine the settlement map. We will determine it."

Udi Fogel, 36, his wife Ruth, 35, and their children Yoav, 11, Elad, 4 and Hadas, 3 months were all stabbed to death.

The funeral for the five members of the Fogel family, murdered in a terror attack in the West Bank town of Itamar on Friday night is scheduled to take place in Jerusalem on Sunday.

The IDF Spokesperson's office on Wednesday afternoon released more new footage of Gaza flotilla activists attacking soldiers with a stun grenade, a box of plates, and water hoses.

The video was taken before the soldiers boarded the Mavi Marmara in Monday's raid:

The IDF previously released footage of the Monday raid, which depicted the activists attacking soldiers with various weapons, including a large metal pole and other metal objects.

In related news, Israel Radio reported Wednesday that the most viewed video on YouTube over the last day was the IDF's footage of the Mavi Marmara raid.

Another "successful" stunt by anti-Israel happy activists, as always it's disguised under "activism" or "peace" or both: "Peace activism." But Why does the CNN, BBC call the anti Israel racist Arab violent thugs as "peace activists?"

How can "peace activists" be so violent and INITIATE attacks with knives and metal bars hitting heads of security guys?

Geez, I never knew a "peace activism" could be so violent and so bloody.

It seems that Israeli security people have long stopped being seen as human beings, since most media ignored the injured ones in the hospital who simply explain that they had to shoot for fear their life was in danger.

A sincere independent media or political persnality would be shocked in the utter surprise violent attack by the 'Flotilla' Muslims "activists." First and foremost.

WHY DO CHECKPOINTS EXIST?

Does MSM expect Israelis - the very victim of Arab-Islamic bigoted attacks since its re-birth, not to check the incoming ships for weapons smuggling? Or, is it a secret that Palestinian-Arabs have used: pregnant women, UN vehicles, ambulances for weapons and bombers transport? Each time you board a plane and being searched, remember that Israelis non-Arab Jews have to go through this in any major crowded area, and remember who's fault it is all. It's not Buddhism, nor, Christianity or Judaism!

A CALCULATED PLAN

How much greed, money was in the 'plan' of intentionally letting the Arab "activists" die in their initiated unprovoked confrontation, in the Hamas, Hezbollah Islamic-Arab global fundraising (besides of "victimhood" and damning Israel's image) objective?

It is always planned, the media should stop playing stupid for once, the same as when Palestine Hamas or "moderate" Fatah's Al-Aqsa brigade or Hezbollah shoot behind babies, attack Israelis who make the checkpoint stricter that triggers an outcry against "those bad Israelis."

HUMANITARIAN WHO?

If it's only about "giving humanitarian aid," Why not let Israelis give it to Gazans (provided that Palestinian leaders won't steal it as usual) and leave peacefully the area?

If the mission would be really a "humanitarian" and to "help poor Arab-Palestinians," Why not send the aid, why attack Israelis? Why not do honest humanitarian work for once and simply bring the food instead of bring knives with such a built up rage? Let me tell you why, because no one is "pro-Palestinian," absolutely no one cares about them, asides from using them, but all these Arabs, Muslims from Arab countries, or (mainly from Islamic) Turkey & Spain are really against Israelis, or Jews, that's exactly the gist of "Pro-Palestinian activism." As soon as Arab-Palestinians are better off (given that they change...) these "activists" [leaders] lose their anti-Israel-hate oxygen, they're so desperately hooked on.

This is not the first Gaza-STUNT-boat, and we haven't learned anything.

Isn't already a known fact --by now-- that Palestinian or Iranian backed Hezbollah 'anti-Israel violent machine' has been abusing anything "humanitarian" for its propaganda purposes?

If these warriors & actions are 'peace,' what is war?

ANTI HUMANITARIAN PALESTINIAN LEADERSHIP

What more can one say about the shear cruelty, like Palestinian leadership of Islamic Hamas refusing to allow the aid to reach their people in order to make political demands?
Still think it's about feeding Arab-Palestine?

SHOULD ISRAEL PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROUTINE ALMOST BORING CONDEMNTATIONS IN THE 'ARAB-ISLAMIC LOBBY' CONTROLLED UN / AMNESTY?

Israel was always about survival and self defense, image - damage control was always secondary, this, and only this, is the first and last motivation for any action it ever takes, whereas the Arab-Islamic side cares less about life more about propaganda, in fact it is often so viciously sacrificing civilians for this very goal, the crude results of it all are there for all to see. Needless to say, Israel prefers to live than die-in-order to save its "image."

A conference on justice for Palestine due to be held tomorrow at State Parliament has been called off after several high-profile speakers withdrew from the event, citing revelations the convener had made anti-Semitic remarks.

Maqsood Alshams, who had organised the conference 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere', made a series of derogatory remarks about Jewish people in several private emails, the Herald revealed on Wednesday.

Two of the conferences key speakers, Antony Loewenstein and Peter Manning, withdrew in a joint email to the convenor at lunchtime today [Wednesday].

"As a Jew who condemns anti-Semitism I though it would be inappropriate to engage in a debate in that kind of environment," said Mr Loewenstein, a blogger and author of My Israel Question. "That does not change the fact that I still feel very strongly about the situation in Gaza."

Professor Manning, who lectures in Journalism at UTS and is a critic of anti-Arab media bias, also said he felt the conference was no longer an appropriate forum for the issue.

"I don't want to confuse the Palestinian issues that I care about with any form of racism or anti-Semitism," said Professor Manning.

Mr Maqsood, a Bangladesh-born asylum seeker and founder of the small lobby group Asia Pacific Human Rights Institute, apologised for the emails on Tuesday and said he had been "intoxicated and angry" when he wrote them.

He was not available for comment tonight [Wednesday], but had notified people via email during the afternoon that the event had been cancelled.

The director of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Vic Alhadeff, who condemned Mr Maqsood's comments on Tuesday, said he was vindicated by the decision.

"Our community felt from the outset that if the conference went ahead, it would have been irredeemably tainted with bias, given the lack of balance and the anti-Semitic comments made by the principal organiser," he said in a statement.

Pallywood was always good in 'language', from their frequent use of "freedom" to "resistance", while the siege on little Israel by its racist Arab neighbors goes on already for over 60 years, and recently Sderot under [real] siege from Gaza - Hamastan's missiles (Shall we call the missiles upon civilians intended to murder as "freedom missiles"?, those rockets that have a double edge sword, to harm innocent Israelis which Palestinain Hamas is bend on, plus to cause a defensive actions from Israel's security concerned forces to restrict Hamastan thus their beloved 'victim card' can have more teeth,) yet, it's rather the anti freedom (for anyone) the Islamic Hamas, that succeeded again in yet another "freedom" slogan, 'Free Gaza', those that seek to live and have their people live in misery to gain world's sympathy, have hit a jackpot, especially with some gullible "peace" activists.

The Gaza Boat Protest

1. Prior to the boats’ arrival along the Gaza coast:



a. Israel is closely monitoring the flotilla. This action constitutes an
intentional provocation. Consequently, Israel will do everything it can to
prevent it.



b. In accordance with the Interim Agreement between Israel and the
Palestinian Authority, which was supported by the international community, the
Israel Navy is exclusively responsible for the safety and security of the
maritime zones off the coast of Gaza.
2. In the event that the boats will be
allowed to proceed to Gaza:



a. The campaign is orchestrated by a handful of agitators who tried to draw
the State of Israel into a confrontation in the open sea, with broad media
coverage. This is not an expression of concern for the residents of the Gaza
Strip, but rather a political protest that serves only the Hamas and
terrorism.



b. This campaign is an intentional provocation undertaken by organizations
and activists, some of whom have a long history of employing provocative
tactics. Such groups, though flying the banner of human rights, are troublingly
silent in the face of the gross violations perpetrated by Hamas which have
caused so much suffering to Israelis and Palestinians alike. This action, which
seeks to grant legitimacy to the Hamas terrorist regime, is immoral and flies in
the face of the clearly stated position of the international community.



c. Israel continues to reserve its right to determine regarding entry into
the Gaza Strip. In this case, Israel merely decided not to be dragged into the
provocation that the protesters so eagerly sought to instigate.



d. Israel's policy remains unchanged, and it will continue to examine each
case upon its merits.



3. Israel's humanitarian policy towards Gaza:



Despite ongoing Hamas terrorism and attacks against the inland crossing
points, Israel permits the transfer of large quantities of humanitarian aid into
the Gaza Strip on a daily basis, and allows the passage of patients and
accompanying individuals into Israel, and the West Bank for medical treatment.
Consequently, there is no justification for this provocation.



4. Israel’s security policy vis-à-vis the Gaza Strip:



The Gaza Strip under the Hamas regime has
become a terrorist entity. Hamas smuggles and manufactures arms in a military
buildup that is continuing despite the current state of calm, in blatant
violation of the understandings laid out in the Egyptian initiative which
established the calm.

Slow Boat to Gaza--Radicals gather in Cyprus "to break the
siege."...
Mr. Monir Deeb, a native Gazan who has lived in Los Angeles since
1979, explained to the media that he was boarding these boats to reunite with
his siblings in Gaza. Mr. Deeb described Gaza as a "peaceful community under
Israeli military siege" and said that this small convoy was meant to deliver a
message to Israel to stop the siege of Gaza.


This reporter asked Mr. Deeb about the armed Gaza militias who have fired
thousands of missiles over the past eight years against Israeli civilian
communities that surround Gaza. I also asked for his comment on how the Hamas
government is using the current cease fire period to regroup and train for the
next attack on Israel. Mr. Deeb said that he "could not relate to this
question," since it was "political" and his concern was "only humanitarian" in
nature.

The convener of the FreeGaza.org press conference, Ms. Greta Berlin, an
American woman formerly married to a Palestinian whose family was dislocated
from Safed in Northern Israel during the 1948 war, gave examples of the
humanitarian mission on which they were embarking. “One of her missions,” she
said, “was to supply 9,000 hearing aids for Palestinian children who suffer
hearing loss at a young age, due to Israeli missile attacks on Gaza.”

I asked Ms. Berlin if it were not the case that the
missile attacks that she had claimed had been fired at Palestinians in Gaza by
Israelis were actually fired by Palestinians towards the Western Negev, as they
screech over Palestinian villages en route to hit Israeli civilian targets.



Ms. Berlin would not comment, saying repeatedly
that the purpose of the voyage to Gaza was not political, even though the press
statement issued by FreeGaza.org touched every raw political nerve possible.


FreeGaza.org also clearly stated that it strongly condemns Israel for not
allowing "refugees and their descendants the right to return home" to the
villages that have since been resettled by Israel after the 1948 war. Meanwhile,
the "FreeGaza.org" press statement also decried "Israel's illegal occupation of
Palestine," laying aside any pretensions that the group only favored Israel's
full withdrawal from Gaza...

lacking. One can find three very well substantiated reasons:
lack of professional public relations manpower in government,
lack of funds and lack of coordinated communications between
the Israel Prime Minister's Office, the Israel Ministry for
Foreign Affairs and Israel Defense Forces.

But
today was different.

The terror group Hamas tried to stage a media PR event and failed
big time.

"We
knew about this Hamas attempt to create a PR event at sea for
weeks," Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesmen Arye Mekel
told the Israel News Agency.

"We
knew who's on these boats and what they contain, and therefore
we decided weeks ago to allow them to come into Gaza. They were
not carrying weapons and had only a handful of equipment for
the hearing impaired."

It
appears that hearing aids for Hamas are needed. So are prescription
eyeglasses.

According
to the Israel Defense Forces,
approximately 300 humanitarian trucks filled with food, medical
supplies and fuel pass daily into Gaza. "Gaza has food,"
says Mekel. "They only thing they lack is freedom and democracy."

Under
the security closure imposed by Israel in June 2007 after Hamas
violently attacked the Palestinian Authority in Gaza, Israel
has allowed tons of UN supplied humanitarian supplies into Gaza.

So
as Hamas failed to create an "Exodus" type event at
sea, they also failed to please their own people in Gaza. Since
leaving Cyprus on Friday, the failed PR event staged by the
US - based Free Gaza Movement had always been in doubt.

The residents of Gaza were disappointed by the total lack of
food supposed to have been brought in by the two Palestine boats
carrying international leftist activists.

"Many
people thought these boats would make a significant contribution
to break the siege, not only politically but also in terms of
bringing in goods, equipment, food, and medicine," one
Gazan said. "However, once it turned out these boats contained
no food and only activists, most people left the beach disappointed."

Israel
government sources state that tons of UN, US and Israel humanitarian
aid never even reach the citizens of Gaza. The food is confiscated
by Hamas, given to their own people, some of the UN and Red
Cross supplies are sold on the black market and about 30 percent
is simply destroyed to create a PR image of Gazans going hungry.

All
the same it was Pallywood, a Hollywood event which begged hundreds
of Gazans to come to the beach and greet the leftist activists
at the beach.

The
two Palestinian boats, carrying 46 international left-wing activists
who support Hamas suicide bombers and rocket attacks on Israel
towns and cities, reached the Gaza beach at around 6:00 pm today.
The 46 activists from 14 countries included an 81-year-old Catholic
nun and Lauren Booth, the sister-in-law of international Mideast
envoy and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Dozens
of Gazans headed out to sea in fishing boats to welcome the
Hamas supporters. Among these were a Tunisian, German, US citizens,
as well as an Israel activist.

Mekel
confirmed that the failed PR stunt was staged by Hamas.

"One
cannot place any responsibility on the Palestinian Authority
for these theatrics as the PA has no control of Gaza."

What
Mekel was stating was that this was not a "Palestinian"
public relations event. In fact, the PA and it's forces have
been at odds with Hamas for many months with much blood shed
between the two. The PA supports the Middle-East peace process,
while Iran backed Hamas continues to openly call for the destruction
of Israel and attacks Israel city and town with Qassam rockets.

The so called "peace activists" which were on their
way to Gaza illustrated a complete and total disregard for innocent
Israel terror victims, said MFA Frimet Roth.

The Israel Foreign Ministry exposed the foreign supporters of
Hamas saying that they did not deserve to be referred to as
"peace activists," labeling them as a "handful
of provocateurs seeking a public relations stunt who initiated
a political protest aimed at boosting Hamas' regime of horrors
in Gaza."

"How does such delusional journey promote peace?"
the Israel Foreign Ministry added. "What kind of contribution
does this journey make to the promotion of ideas of reconciliation
and compromise? None."

Hamas spokesman Sammy Abu Zuhri said that Israel's initial insistence
on torpedoing the arrival of boats carrying international activists
headed to Gaza "attests to the Israeli distress caused
by this international peace initiative." There were also
reports that the protesters radio equipment had been jammed
by the IDF.

"None
of this was true," said Mekel. "They were looking
for anything they could find to make a news story out of thin
air. Not one IDF ship was ever seen by these protesters."

Mekel
pointed out that the decision not to prevent the protesters
from reaching Gaza was "made at the highest level of government."
Which means that Israel Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, his security
cabinet and Israel's Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs
were not going to allow another Pallywood production. In the
past, Palestinians have been filmed being shot and appearing
to be dead. During Operation Defensive Shield Israel video footage
clearly shows Palestinian actors either falling off or getting
off first aid stretchers.

While
Mekel would not admit that it was clearly a public relations
victory for Israel, one can clearly see that Israel has come
a long way in its professional and honest approach with the
media. Even if the IDF has made a mistake for which they could
easily take a spin on, senior officers at the Israel Defense
Forces Spokespersons Office will not allow any lies.

"At
the end of the day, we do need to lie," said an IDF spokesperson.
"If we make a mistake we will be the first to admit it.
While the international media sees day after day pure propaganda
coming from Gaza. The international media has come to learn
the difference between democracy and free speech at work in
Israel and Hamas terrorism in Gaza. Journalists have long memories.
And many remember Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl
and the recent kidnappings of journalists in Gaza by Hamas."

Israel
officials made a point of highlighting that sincere humanitarian
groups could continue to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian
population with aid to the UN and International Red Cross through
existing land crossings. Israel has always drawn and respected
the distinction between the civilian population in Gaza and
Iran backed Hamas terrorists.

"They
are very brave, they are very strong, I am proud of them,"
said Samira Ayash, a 65-year-old retired school teacher who
came to watch the failed Gaza PR event. An European reporter
followed Ayash as he returned to Gaza Port. He was greeted by
two young men in beards who shook his hand and then took out
a wallet and handed Ayash money.

Palestinians
