Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip have fired at least seven rockets at southern Israel, including one that landed near a daycare center. As Robert Berger reports from Jerusalem, residents are accusing the Israeli government of failing to protect them.

There was panic as a Palestinian rocket slammed into a courtyard near a crowded daycare center in the hard hit Israeli town of Sderot, near the Gaza border. None of the 15 children were hurt, but for worried parents it was too close for comfort. It was the second day of school, and the second day in a row that that the city has come under rocket fire.

Shlomit Eckstein, a mother of six, told Israel Radio that there are eight daycare centers in Sderot and none have been fortified against rocket attacks. But Eckstein said protecting buildings is not enough.

Like many residents, she says that the only way to stop the rockets is to launch a major military operation in Gaza.

In Jerusalem, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned that the rocket attacks would not be tolerated. "The army has been instructed to destroy all rocket launchers and target anyone involved in the attacks," he said.

Nevertheless, Israel pulled out of heavily-populated Gaza two years ago, and the government is no hurry to send the army back in. Officials say a major ground offensive is not on the agenda.

Israel’s restraint in the face of Kassam rockets launched from Palestinian territory is said to be heightening tensions in the Middle East.

Two rockets slammed into Sderot, one of them striking a community center and another hitting a bus. Three people were injured. A separate attack hit the port city of Ashkelon. In total, 45 rockets have been launched from Gaza into Israel since the November 26 truce went into effect.

Israel’s lack of retaliatory response has been widely decried as “provocative.” “The failure of the Jews to strike back reveals their evil scheming nature,” said Sheik Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah. “It’s inhuman to adhere to a truce under such conditions. The evidence of the Jews’ link to satanic powers couldn’t be clearer. For the love of God they must be exterminated.”

Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad called Israel’s actions “sinister.” “Throughout recorded history the Jews have tried to lull the unwary by their nonviolent responses to pogroms and repression,” Ahmadinejad warned. “Their diabolical cunning brought down the great Adolf Hitler. It will bring down the world if we are not careful.”

The United Nations has promised to look into the matter. “We should not allow ourselves to be fooled by Jewish trickery,” outgoing Secretary-General Kofi Annan advised. “If Jews are being attacked there must be a good reason. We will get to the bottom of this.”

1) Are you denying that the Arab racist attacks on Jews in Israel/"palestine" has started since 1838 (Safed) [so were the attacks in 1883, 1920, 1921, 1929 - Hebron, etc.]?

[PS, he just made a tour (May-2006) among "moderate" Muslim nations that only cheered him on. ]

Exactly How many Muslims or Muslim organizations [that are so worry about their image or of their 'prophet's] have protested against the masses of Muslims on the 'Cartoon -Jihad' rampage (2006), calling Europe a cancer and threatening a "9/11" on Europe?

Not one of the few courageous Muslims that speak out for real overall reform, for disliking westerners, for sympathy for Israel the victim, for about [all] Muslims regimes' crimes on their own people, have been shielded from any major Muslim organization (including such as CAIR - http://anti-cair-net.org), from the menace of death threats Fatwas by Muslim clerics.

Let's make it clear, even if there will be a "Palestine" state, it will never change the factual history, that a group of foreign Arab immigrants came into the (historic) land of the Jews (and started to call themselves as "Palestinians" in the 1960's) and hijacked the world comunity via terrorism and Arab oil power to give them yet a second 'Palestine' state (after Jordan).

ISRAEL VS UN'S ANTI ISRAEL BIAS

Israel should have [a long time ago] press the UN for:
1) Condemming Arab Muslim 'Palestinian' parents, teachers, leaders, Mullahs, for using Arab kids as human shields and as human bombs, clarifying the real culprits in Arabs' deaths.
2) Violations by ILLEGAL PA Arabs "settlers" on Israel's "agreed" borders by the UN.
3) "Palestinian" Violation of virtually ALL agreemants pacts with Israel (Oslo, Camp David, etc.).
4) The PA official media & education = hate (crimes) campaign on "the joos", (not just on Israel...).
5) Exposing the constant intimdation on nations by the GOLIATH ARAB MUSLIM (oil) block, to tarnish innocent Israel in the UN.
