The 'Auschwitz borders'
In the end, the report published by the “Yediot Ahronot”, which had detailed the diplomatic blows Obama was about to rain on Israel, was indeed only partially correct. The president had not mentioned the “illegality of the Jewish settlements” and wasn’t tempted to elaborate a la Bill Clinton on his vision for a divided Jerusalem. It wasn’t really necessary.

May 19th, 2011, will go down in history as a day on which a leader of the free world had fully embraced the Palestinian narrative of the desirable solution to the conflict between the Arabs and the Jews. One has to marvel over the ineffable temerity, with which Obama had in a few words overturned the American policy in force since the resolution 242 was passed by the Security Council. By stating that from now on, the “1967 borders” with minimal swaps are the AMERICAN idea of how the conflict should be resolved on the ground, Obama had covered all his pro-Palestinian bases in one fell swoop.

Consider: if Israel should be rolled back into the Auschwitz “borders” from which it was once saved by its own bravery and the dint of Providence, the whole issue of settlements is made obsolete. Obama had finally buried the solemn commitment of his predecessor to recognize the demographic realities on the ground and to support the annexation of settlement blocks by Israel. Now, the United States had hitched its colours to the Palestinian wagon – what will be acceptable to the Hamas-Fatah duo, will pass muster in Washington. In case of Palestinian intransigence, Israel should not expect the White House to intervene on its behalf – after all, “the 1967 border” is a rule, the “swaps” are only the exception. In fact, the Palestinians would be justified in concluding that, in case of the stalemate over borders, Obama will force Israel to comply. After all, “the international community is tired” not of Arabs killing Jews, but of Jews defending their minimal claims to their national patrimony.

Same goes for Jerusalem. If the “1967 border” becomes the standard solution, then the Jews will have to beg the Arabs for each and every neighbourhood over the “green line”, for each house and alley in the Old City. Arabs might agree; or they might not – in any case, America is no longer a party to those discussions. In case of disagreement, the rule of 1967 must be followed. This is the only logical conclusion one can make from the presidential pronouncement that from now on, the armistice lines drawn in 1949 by Israeli and Jordanian officers are magically transformed into the “territorial outlines of the Palestinian state”.

Reading the relevant part of the speech, the only question on the reader’s mind should be “Why?” Why, exactly, must the future border follow the “green line”? Because that’s what Palestinians demand? And why should they know the territorial parameters of the future settlement before they even got back to the negotiating table? The land is the only tangible asset Israel has in its dealings with Palestinians; take it away, and the only thing left to discuss are the terms of surrender.

Leaving aside the intriguing vision of the future Palestine that is both fully sovereign and demilitarized, and the brisk dismissal of the millennia of the Jewish connection to Jerusalem as an “emotional issue”, just how will the proponents of “Obama is the greatest friend of Israel” theory rationalize his treatment of the Palestinian “unity”? Apparently, from now on the fact that the future Palestine is ruled jointly by the Islamofascist cult of death which treats Protocols of Zion’s Elders as a revelation, becomes the problem for Israel, but not, again, for America, which must “continue every effort to get beyond the current impasse” (read: to pressure Israel) regardless of the composition of the Palestinian government.

The Israelis, most of whom spent the evening at the early Lag ba-Omer bonfires with their children, returned home to a new and stark reality. For all his assurances, president Obama has taken America out of Israel’s corner. Now the only thing that remains to be seen is whether the president was indeed speaking for America.

Racism in the Islamic World How can peace prevail in the Middle East in the face of Islamic bigotry and hate? When will moderate Muslims speak out?

Racism in the Islamic World How can peace prevail in the Middle East in the face of Islamic bigotry and hate? When will moderate Muslims speak out?
http://www.factsandlogic.org/ad_94a.html

For years, the U.N., led by Islamic and Arab nations and their sympathizers, has accused Israel of racism, but the world consistently turns a blind eye to open, seething anti-Semitism in Islamic society.

What are the facts?

In one of the most astonishing propaganda coups ever, a United Nations conference on racism, which took place in Durban South Africa in 2001, declared that Zionism is racism. No wonder the U.S. and Israel walked out of the meeting, which was dominated by representatives of Islamic and Arab states and other anti-Israel forces, and whose conclusions were predictable from the outset.

The supreme irony of this conference was that it accused no other nation of racism—only Israel. In truth, Israel is perhaps the most racially and ethnically diverse and tolerant country in the world. More than half of Israel’s Jewish population consists of people of color—blacks from Ethiopia and Yemen, as well as brown-skinned people from Morocco, Iran, Syria, Egypt and Israel itself. In addition, Israel’s population includes more than one million Arabs, who enjoy the same civil rights as Jewish Israelis. In Israel hate speech is banned, and it is against the law to discriminate based on race or religion.

In contrast, anti-Semitism—a poisonous form of racism directed specifically against the Jewish people—is rampant in most all Islamic societies. Not only is anti-Semitism commonplace in Muslim nations, but it is propagated shamelessly by their leaders, in state-sponsored media, and by Muslim clergy.

For example, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed declared in a 2003 speech to the Organization of Islamic Conference that, “today Jews rule the world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them.” Imagine if an American president had made a similarly sweeping and bigoted statement about blacks, Latinos or any other race—what a justifiable uproar, perhaps even an impeachment, would ensue. Yet there was no condemnation by the Muslim world of Mr. Mohamed’s comments. Rather, virtually all of the conference’s Muslim leaders actually voiced their approval.

In response to a terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia in May 2004, Crown Prince Abdullah declared that “Zionism is behind [these] terrorist actions in the kingdom.” (Zionism is the code word often used by Islamic anti-Semites for Jews.) U.S. Congressman Tom Lantos called the Prince’s assertion “an outrage . . . blatant hypocrisy,” but Islamic leaders were silent. In fact, millions of Muslims still insist that Zionists were behind the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
Anti-Semitism is expressed so freely and ubiquitously in most Islamic societies that no citizen can escape it. During Ramadan in 2002, Egypt’s state-controlled TV aired “Horseman Without a Horse,” a program based on the notorious forgery, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, in which Jews allegedly use the blood of non-Jews to make Passover matzot. In Iran, a TV series, “Zahra’s Blue Eyes,” portrays “Zionists” kidnapping Palestinian children and harvesting their organs.

Perhaps nowhere is the hatred of Jews more virulent than among the Palestinians. Most perniciously, Palestinian children are taught in school that Jews are descended from apes and pigs and that the most noble thing they can do is to kill Jews. Muslim clerics like Imam Ibrahim Madiras, an employee of the Palestinian Authority, declared in a 2005 television sermon, “Jews are a cancer” and later that, “Muslims will kill the Jews . . . [and] rejoice in Allah’s victory.” No surprise, then, that the 1982 doctoral dissertation of Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas makes the astounding claim that “Zionists” collaborated with the Nazis to annihilate the Jewish people in order to drive the survivors to Palestine.

Anti-Semitism and the prospects for peace: Islamic anti-Semitism permeates the Arab Middle East and creates an atmosphere in which Jews are reviled and represented as subhuman. How can the Palestinian people embrace peace with a people represented by their religious and political leaders as dehumanized, evil beings? Even more importantly, how can Israel be expected to trust a so-called peace partner who expresses abject hatred and murderous intent toward Jews on a daily basis? Yet the U.S. and many European nations continue to demand that Israel make one-sided sacrifices for peace with a people steeped in racism and committed to its destruction.

Until Islamic leaders muster the integrity to relentlessly condemn anti-Semitism (and its evil twin, anti-Zionism), we can’t expect Israel to accept a forced peace with the Palestinians. Likewise, until moderate Muslims reject racism in all forms, they can’t expect Islam to enjoy full respect as a political and spiritual force among the world’s people.

“ Until Muslims reject racism in all forms, they can’t expect Islam to enjoy full respect as a political and spiritual force.”

ISLAMIC "PALESTINIAN" APARTHEID - Expert: 'Christian groups in PA to disappear'

http://www.jpost. com/servlet/ Satellite? pagename= JPost%2FJPArticl e\
%2FShowFull& cid=119554679587 4

Expert: 'Christian groups in PA to disappear'
Etgar Lefkovits , THE JERUSALEM POST Dec. 4, 2007
The ever-dwindling Christian communities living in
Palestinian- run territories in the West Bank and Gaza are likely
to dissipate completely within the next 15 years as a result of
increasing Muslim persecution and maltreatment, an Israeli
scholar said Monday.

"The systematic persecution of Christian Arabs living in
Palestinian areas is being met with nearly total silence by the
international community, human rights activists, the media and
NGOs," said Justus Reid Weiner, an international human rights
lawyer in an address at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs,
where he serves as a scholar in residence.

He cited Muslim harassment and persecution as the main cause of
the "acute human rights crisis" facing Christian Arabs, and
predicted that unless governments or institutions step in to
remedy the situation - such as with job opportunities - there
will be no more Christian communities living in the Palestinians
territories within 15 years, with only a few Western Christians
and top clergymen left in the area.

"Christian leaders are being forced to abandon their followers to
the forces of radical Islam," Weiner said.

Facing a pernicious mixture of persecution and economic hardships
as a result of years of Palestinian violence and Israeli
counter-terrorism measures, tens of thousands of Christian Arabs
have left the Palestinian territories for a better life in the
West, in a continuing exodus which has led some Christian leaders
to warn that the faith could be virtually extinct in its
birthplace in a matter of decades.

The Palestinian Christian population has dipped to 1.5 percent of
the West Bank and Gaza Strip, down from at least 15% a half
century ago, according to some estimates.

No one city in the Holy Land is more indicative of the great
exodus of Christians than Bethlehem, which fell under full
Palestinian control last decade as part of the Oslo Accords.

The town of 30,000 is now less than 20% Christian, after decades
when Christians were the majority. Elsewhere in the Palestinian
territories, only about 3,000 Christians, mostly Greek Orthodox,
live in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, out of a strongly conservative
Muslim population of 1.4 million.

"In a society where Arab Christians have no voice and no
protection it is no surprise that they are leaving," he said.

In his address, Weiner pointedly downplayed the effects that
Israeli security measures, such as the security barrier being
built between Israel and the West Bank, have had on the Christian
Arabs living in the West Bank.

The barrier, which is especially conspicuous at the entrance to
Bethlehem where it is a concrete wall, is an issue which many
Palestinian Christian clerics have pointed to, along with the
ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as a central cause of
Christian emigration.

Weiner argued there was a "180 degree difference" between the
public statements coming out of the mainstream Christian
leadership in the Holy Land - who "sing the PA's tune" and blame
Israel for all the Christian Arabs' ills - and people's
experience on the ground.

"The truth is beginning to come out," he said. "The question is
what is being done with the truth."

His comments come just months after a prominent Christian
activist, Rami Khader Ayyad, 32, was killed in Gaza.

"For too long the plight of Christian Arabs has been put on the
back-burner or ignored altogether," said Rev. Malcolm Hedding,
executive director of the International Christian Embassy, a
Jerusalem-based evangelical organization.

The Evangelical leader, who has drawn the wrath of Catholic
leaders in the Holy Land for his strong support for Israel, said
that "power politics" has prevented the major Christian leaders
in the Holy Land from speaking out on this issue.

"There is a one-sided debate in which Israel is responsible for
everything," he said. "The Christian world needs to stand up and
speak out about this."

The 'Apartheid Slur' on multi-racial cosmoplitan Israel the gem & 'Darfurian Israelis'

The 'Apartheid Slur' on multi-racial cosmoplitan Israel the gem & 'Darfurian Israelis'

'Darfurain Israelis'

Dear Friends,

In this day and age, almost no matter where you live, it is hard to take pride in government. Here in Israel there's lots to brag about. Technological leadership, thriving economy, the warmth of our society, the way our youngsters defend their fellow citizens against attack in a never ending terror war ... but sadly, our elected leaders are not usually part of the positive images. So when they get caught doing something right, it's a noteworthy surprise. A story in today's Ha'aretz is one of those surprises.

Interior Minister, Meir Sheetrit, announced that hundreds of Darfur refugees will be granted citizenship of Israel. Estimates are that around 2,000 African refugees have found asylum in Israel, but the issue is not without its problems. With their pursuers having shifted whole new populations into the Sudanese homes and villages, they will have nowhere to go even after the fighting is over. It is clear that the 2.5 million who have been displaced cannot be absorbed by tiny Israel. It is also difficult to differentiate between economic opportunists and genuine refugees – not to mention the security risk associated with potential infiltrators from an enemy state said to harbour Al-Qaida. To date, the Israeli Muslim community has not come forward, and so those who are in Israel do not have a local community into which they easily integrate.

On the other hand, the Jewish state, which was rose out of the ashes of the Holocaust and became a haven for hundreds of thousands of Jews chased out of Arab countries and has a collective memory of exile to Rome and Babylon, dhimmitude in Arabia, the Spanish Inquisition, and European pogroms, cannot stand idly by.

Darfur is a world responsibility, and one in which it would be reasonable to expect the Arab and African nations to take a lead. Arab states, as yet have shown no inclination to reign in the racist Arab Muslims who are engaged in rape, pillage and plunder of the most barbaric dimensions. Nor have they shown the slightest inclination to protect the persecuted black Muslims. It is worse. In a most repulsive story, Egyptian border guards murdered Sudanese refugees trying to cross the border, seeking refuge in Israel. A physical "tug-of-war" with Israeli border guards over one of the refugees ended in an Egyptian "victory" after they pointed their guns at the Israelis. The poor refugee "prize" was simply dragged back over the border and clubbed to death. Nor have African nations offered succour to their Muslim and animist coreligionists. And the Western world has been equally unwilling to offer haven.

As we approach the Rosh Hashanna new year, we and the Sudanese refugees can only hope that the example set by Israel, absorbing a number so large in terms of its relative population, and granting the protection and benefits of citizenship to the stateless, will be part of fulfillment of the words of the prophet Isiah "The law will go out of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." Press your government to take heed and act.

David
